Help! Im loosing my mind.

So after my first attempt to drive this thing for the first time and got nothing but wet. Today we tried again.
Here it goes. We put in at beltsville and as I drove thru the long no wake zone I kept my eye on all the gauges and all was good. Finally I pass the no wake bouy and with the drive about half way down i slowly push the throttle forward to engage and again throttled up slowly and I see I have it already up to 3000 rpm and we are going no where. I try a little more gas nada. I try trimming up, Nothing. trimming down, zip. I ease it back to neutral and then I start to panic. I am by no stretch a pro driver, But dang at 3000 grand my old diplomat was up on plane and scurrying across the lake by then.
So Guys, I don't know what else to do. I check when we got back to the shop that she was engaging the gears. she pops into forward and reverse fine. I checked with the engine off and she locks in both gears. I even tried turning the prop buy hand with it in foward gear counter clockwise and she is locked. I know because my brother observed that even the engine would turn. The drive does not make any noise while in gear that would indicate a problem. Took two short videos and a couple of pictures and I hope some one here might steer me in the right direction.
The prop you see in the pics is a quicksilver laser2, DB quicksilver 48 16548 A41 23p.
Big Thank You in advance to all of you.......Rich :brickwall:

elaborate please. How would i check that? I tried spining it by hand and it moved but so did the motor. at first I thought it might have been the coupler but the shaft can clearly be seen spinning in the engine bay.

Have you tried with the trim all the way down from the start? Is the prop blowing out?
Different boat but if im not tucked in it will usally just blow the prop out and go no where.

Yeah! I tried with the trim all the way down, Half way up, so on and so forth and nuthin. Im like so discouraged right now its sucks.

Trim tucked in, push throttle till it gets up on plane. Keep pushing till on plane or rpms are topped out. I think your just getting out of it to soon.

I thought for a moment that maybe I am not driving this thing right but. With the trim all the way down and the engine already at 3000 and climbing i would expect some considerable forward movement. But no. I can swim faster than this thing. I know I suck at driving because Im a noob , But I really do think there is something wrong here. :brickwall::brickwall::brickwall:

Thanks brother. Yeah if I was plowing at least I would be going somewhere and I would bring the nose up. This girl just can get her but out of the water and move at any think faster than no wake speed. :pissed::pissed:

I would try a different prop. I had one that was spun, it would only do it in turns. Boat would slow way down and rpm's would skyrocket. Trying to spin it by hand there would be no give it was tighter then a ?????.:D

That's something to think about. Could a prop really have a spun hub and still be that tight that you can turn the engine buy hand with it in gear? Can a boat shop check the prop?

The torque the motor puts on the prop is a ton more than you can. I had a friend that would put a mark on the inside of the hub and prop to see if they moved after a run. also I have heard of people putting their outdrives in a big tub and putting them in drive to see if it keeps spinning. just keep water running.

A real thumbs up to everyone who has chimed in on this for me.:thumb:
I have look elsewhere on the net and the symptoms point to what you guys here are telling me.
So, my next question is, can I get this thing repaired and if so ? Does the repair hold?

Before spending money on a prop or at a prop shop do you have any friends in your area you can borrow a prop from?

the hub can be replaced. you can purchase a new hub and then just knock the old one out and replace with the new one. some require a press.

As someone else mentioned, mark the prop nut with paint, make a corresponding mark on the barrel of the prop. Run it in the water as you did then shut it off, bring the drive all the way up and see if the marks are still aligned. If they're not it's the hub.
