1994 Convincor 253

First time checkmate owner here. Love the boat so far. But I am wanting to do some updates on it. Mostly in the cuddy. My boat is equipped with shore power, microwave and refrigerator. I will never use the fridge or microwave. I am looking for pictures of other convincors without these options to see how it is setup. I will be remove these 2 items for sure. Just don't know how I want it. With the current setup, there is wasted space. The fridge and microwave do work. So if anyone is looking for these, they will be for sale soon.

Thanks

I have a 1997 253 and didn't order all the options for the cabin.
I added a flip down monitor and i can watch movies or play games.
The stereo is on the other side but basically a V berth and the 2 bench seats.
That's all i have.

Thank you for the picture. That helps me out. What is the bigger access panel for? The one that's below the overhead storage. If i do remove the fridge and microwave, I want to keep the cabin looking as close to factory as possible.
Also, the guys with the fridge, is yours 12 volt only or is 120 also? Mine is 12 volt only. How long will it take the fridge to run down a battery? I can't see it being very efficient. I haven't used mine, only turned it on for about an hour to make sure it still worked

Thanks!

My fridge is both. Check you model number I thought about all marine were both. The plug for mine is run down the side below the port side seat. If I know I'm going to use it I'll turn it on the night before on 120 with water, gatoraid, whatever. If I'm staying some where with electric I plug in but I've gone all weekend without. just turn the battery selector to 1 when not running and I have the second battery in case the first dies but never has. I like my beer ice cold so thats always in a cooler.

It's a filler cushion for the lounge area and it turns it into another sleeping area. There is one on each side.
You can see the rails between the seats where both cushions would fit.

Mine has a similar layout to the boats with a microwave and fridge, but where the fridge would go is a storage cabinet that has a bracket to hold a cooler and where the mic. would go is 2 drawers

Thank you everyone.. All the pictures do really help me out. One last question. There is a dimmer switch on starboard side inside the cabin. What is it for? The only thing I can think of is the "mood lighting". :thumb: Mine don't light up and the fuse is good there. So, Im just the dimmer switch is bad.

Hadley, how clean your boat is never ceases to amaze me. And I love how your cabin is laid out. That extra storage would be really nice.

Mine is laid out just like Budman's cabin. The one other thing I added which has proved to be very helpful is an elastic cargo net over the entrance to the v-birth. You can throw a lot of stuff up there, and when you get to your destination across the lake, it is still there!!! Which anybody that owns one of these boats will know that's something amazing. Usually stuff is strewn across the floor and the lower cushions right at the base of the cuddy door. lol

I kept my cabin simple and did not install anything that won't be used. The galley on the port still has the sink (haven't hooked up the water tank yet) and the area where the fridge used to be is now a storage locker.

Yes, it is a dimmer switch for the mood lighting. If you unscrew it there are 2 bullet plugs on the wires feeding it. Maybe one of them became disconnected
