yellowfiero i have a question i hope u can answer. i believe my motor is in need of a rebuild. i have found a 115 power head the serial number says its a 1974 model and my serial number is a 1977. will my 150 lower match up to the 1974 power head? i believe that the 115 is complete from the drive up just has no lower. i havent seen it yet just spoke to the marine shop owner. he is not sure but thinks it will. i thought u would know. thanks for any info u might have.

i have found a junk boat with a running 1971 135 merc motor, good trailer, hydo trim, and good steering for 600 would it be worth while to by if i was wanting to make a hydro jakeplate and good motor for the summer? the motor needs rewiring and have not seen it run yet but have been told that it runs. should i make sure motor is in running condition or is it a deal the way it sits? i dont want to get the shaft on this but im kinda liking the working trim for the jackplate if it will work. not sure maybe u can help with that also. will a trim work as a hydro jackplate?
thanks for any help.
