1978 Convincer restoration

I will need to add some sort of a pin stripe tape or something to conceal the edge between the fiberglass lid and the aluminum.
I would like to get some opinions on how this looks....

Personally I think it looks great, however what I think and what other opnions are should not be your decision maker, especially regarding this project and with someone as talented as you ---- make it the way it looks and feels good to you.

As far as concealing the edge ---- yes a stripe tape or something like that would work, although very often when a tape product is used for "edge" dressing it sometimes becomes frayed along the seam edge.

How about a tip and roll boarder of a nice imron or awlgrip using a edge dressing color like silver or dark blue or black.

In anycase, your doing a great job that you should be very proud of [/QUOTE]X2 looks great!

bless you for taking the boat that I should have kept and turning it into a beautiful work of art. That looks and sounds great.

I really appreciate the comments. As I said before, I got a great deal of information for this resto off this forum, there are a lot of talented people on here that are more than willing to help anyone with a project.

I will get the rest of the interior installed in the next month and finish this boat up. Hope to get some more on the water pics of it then....if the weather stays nice.

Carpet

Where did you get your carpet at like the way it looks is it available in darker colors like charcoal? How did you carpet your front seat bases it baffles me how to get em looking right

The guy that is doing my interior got the carpet out of Kansas City, I will get the name and contact info for you. I think this same stuff is available from a company called Lorenz and Jones in Iowa, I believe they offer grays and darker blues as well. As for the seat bases, I cut the carpet out around the base where it attaches to the floor, then measured around the base for length and the height then just cut a strip of carpet and glued it to the base.

Thanks for the compliment. This boat has been a lot of work but It has turned out to be the coolest boat I've ever owned. The interior is all finished and I will be installing it after the holidays. More pictures then......

even the original owner of the boat cannot believe how great it turned out. He said that if it still looked like that he would have never let it go!

I FINALLY have the interior guy sewing up the vinyl for the seats. He said he has been busy with car show items and hasnt had time to do the boat seats. After having a heated discussion with him he has been working on them and WILL have them done in 2 weeks.... we will see if that is true...

I just talked to Brian and he is thinking about selling this boat. if interested contact him. I will let Brian get on here and talk about price.

Well I have FINALLY picked up the front bucket seats from my upholstery guy.
He has had these for over a year!! The rest of the interior is supposed to be finished next week (I will believe it when I see it) Anyway, here are a couple of photos of the seats.

I have been trying to keep the original look of the seats right down to the correct pattern and pleating that Checkmate did in 1978.

Thanks Nathan, I really need to get this thing back on the water soon. I havent even had it out yet this year.
