1981 Enchanter on eBay

The boat seems in alright condition but the transom has a plate for strength. What am I looking at in repairs you guys think? What would be a good offer to give to the guy since he's been tryin to sell the boat for about 6 months now and doesn't want to lower the price? Any good helpful hints would be greatly appreciated. This is the link Checkmate Enchanter (Ends Feb-17-06 21:47:03 PST)

my personal oppinion is that the boat isnt worth anything neer the buy it now price even with summer rite around the corner. the bottom paint if done right can be a nitemare to remove. He dosent show any pics of the interior or much of the transomn that would give me cause for concern the transomn espescialy. I think you may be money and time ahead to pass on this and look further or shoot him a low ball offer maybe around 1500. Aaron

I agree with aaron... This boats has been on ebay off and on for a year now so something must be wrong. Odds are it was kept in the ocean for the summer judging by the antifouling paint... Never a good idea to keep a boat in the water in my opinion. The price is way too high for the hull even if its clean its not original so they are coivering up something...If you are looking for a boat I may be selling my predictor for $800 (w/out power) soon. The diffrence is night and day with my boat. dont buy the enchanter

Well I wasn't planning on buying it on eBay since I know from experience that the price is way too high. I already own a used boat but I plan to get into these quicker ones. I don't have a lake nearby so I use it in the ocean and i'm trying to find something where I can at least have some chance of making it home. Boston, your boat would be awesome since I don't have much space but it might just be a little too small for home. Let me know when you sell it though; if you sell it. Also, if any of you guys know anyone looking for a 1997 Wellcraft CCF 19 center console or a 1972 Cobia Holiday 16' let me know at Hax26@msn.com. The sooner I get rid of these, the faster I get to go on the water. Thanks again.

Yea it is a small boat. I use it in the ocean 80% of the time. it handels chop better than anything its size. Ive never had such a solid boat, you could drop this thing off a clif and it would probably still survive

I hope the Sportfire I just picked up is just as sturdy.
Ill let you know If i decide to sell it. you wouldnt be dissapointed

Well This is all just a thought right now but the price is firm. I bought it for a grand three years ago so I figure I had my fun with it so Ill pass my deal on to someone who can appreatate it. I know I could most likely get over 1000 for it on Ebay but Im not greedy. The interior is functional but not pretty. The transom is dry and Solid. (not even stress cracks) The floor is solid. The gelcoat is 7 out of 10, very restorable, just a small section of peeling on the front and slight oxidation in the back. There are a few chips near the rub rail that needs touch up. The trailor has a good frame, good rims and bearings but needs tires and fenders. The bunks should be re-welded and carpeted also. check it out: http://checkmate-boats.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/3506095561/m/5491099992
