1998 promax

I just bought a checkmate with a 1998 2.5 225 promax motor on it and it also has what I think is called a sportmaster high speed lower unit. I can't figure out how to change the lower unit lube. I don't see the usual upper and lower plugs on the side.

Take off the prop and it is in the bottom of the opening below where the shaft protrudes out of the casting.

You probably know the guy I bought it from. I think another poster called him checkmate dave in Fargo. He only owned it for a couple of months, but between him and the origanal owner, who used the boat on gull lake, this is one of the cleanest used boat I've ever purchased. For being 5 years old there's not a scuff on the outside and the carpet and seats look brand new. I'm going to be running it on the mississippi river down in the twin cities so hopefully I can keep it's appearance up.

I saw the boat in Daves shop. Very nice!! I have run on the Mississippi and the St.Croix had some nice long wide open runs down there. Enjoy it.:cheers
