2011 244ZT prop selection

Saginaw River mostly....Torch Lake, Higgins Lake occasionally.....Haven't been out in a couple years due to engine problems....mostly I won't stop trying to get more out of it...haha. So needless to say I spend waaay too much time reading on OSO and consequently get too many ideas. Should be hitting it hard next year though, it is coming together nicely now.

I just these marks on all four blades of my prop. What does this mean and why is this happening? Also where is the best place to get it labbed? BBLADES?
Thanks

That is called cavitation burn. What is happening is with the blade spinning fast and creating a small area of pressure low enough to boil the water on the surface of the blade. It is quite common on stainless props. It can be removed with either buffing or a fine wetsand then buffing. Any prop shop will be able to get rid of it too.

BBlades is a very good and reputable shop for lab work. They also have a great trial/loaner program if you commit to purchase a prop from them. I know of a bunch of CM`s running his props and they work great.

Be careful about talking to Keith or paying heed to anything he says. Not so much about the influence on your boats drivetrain.
The real issue is that your genitals soften and shrink when you do things his way.
Doesn't bother him but personally I wouldn't go for it.
Up to you.
Just my thoughts.:rof:
Again, might not really matter in the end.
Oh sh!t, Keith, youre a gonna have to get me back for this one, ??? I'm Just kidding!!

you hanging with ol Jimway. Can't wait for the story.
Oh, you're right! I think I blew the attribute. And there were'nt even any prior posts. (?)
Another Somalian tragedy!!!!
Whoops, my bad!
Steppin' in for the old Captain.

I've been searching with no luck on this question. I know that my best rpm range for my 2011 8.2 mag is 4400-4800, but what does it rev limit at?

Probably similar to the old 502's that were at 5150 rpm. I could be wrong though. Mine is getting set to 6250 this year.

Well I got a labbed finished 26 pitch bravo off Budman on here and finally got to test it today. I also added a k&n high flow filter. I only took one short run, but I got 72 mph on GPS at about 4950 rpm. It was a bit too cold to be playing today, but the boat seemed to pull harder with the new prop from getting on plane right up to top end. Seems like I should be able to run around 72 mph all day. I'm guessing with the rpm's I should be able to keep it at 70 loaded with people. I have a short video and a few pics my buddy got. I could have prob got 73 if I took a few more runs and found the sweet spot in the trim, but I was freezing cold.

I took a run by myself this evening 69.8 gps at 4644rpm. I'm really wanting to see over 70. I guess they don't make a performance ECU for this new 502 yet.

Not bad getting almost 3 mph by bolting on a prop. I think I said about 300 RPMs more.
You happy with the results?

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with it. I need to get a few more runs and check my numbers. Thanks again for the prop. Ill post a few pics here in a bit. The video isn't very good, but ill post it too.
