2012 Checkmate Pulsare Brx 24ft Boat / Mercury 300XS Optimax

It is far

And it's quite the roadtrip to get home! :rof:

Thank goodness i bought your boat on a holiday otherwise with my schedule it would be so tough to have squared things away on your boat. That 24 would be a nightmare for East Coast people. When i went to see your boat, my wife was like its New Years Eve.... Your looking at a boat??wtf

My missus had the same mindset "He's coming all this way to look at a boat on New Years Eve?"

They don't get it

my wife will never fully understand my obsession with cars and boats, she has tried but no luck yet. Plus the drinking doesn't start till around 5 on New Years, so i had a whole day to kill:)

I can't think of a better way of ringing in the New Year than setting in your just bought Checkmate with a party hat on, making "vroom vroom" noises!!!

Umm, isn't that what you do everyday?

Oh wait, you save the party hat for special occasions.

Now I need a party hat!

But i think its priced a bit high, its clean but it is 4 years old.

Just my opinion but, I think it’s a good price. I bet he paid high $60k’s for it. He’s got about a $6,000 trailer under it. Only 37 hours it’s basically new.

Problem is its a boat, good thing is its not real common, but its a buyers a market, I passed on newer one with a 300 in the 37k range because it was far and adding another couple thousand was not worth it at the time.

Yep I agree it's a buyer's market, except that there’s a lot less almost new Checkmates out there. The market is definitely flooded with 10 year old run-about type boats, not to mention the ever-coveted pontoons.

One thing to keep in mind about hours is there are some dealers out there selling “new” never registered boats with more than 37 hours on them.

I think there is another low hours watchout...motors are made to run, not sit. Granted this is a newer boat, but super low hours could mean problems for older motors

Here is why my opinion is what it is

I bought a 2005 Active Thunder Savage in 2006 out of a divorce, 120k package for 67k boat had 40 hrs on it, bought a Cobalt 282 with 60 hrs that was a bank repo 100k plus boat for 34,500.00. So I am spoiled. My active thunder sold for 72k 4 years later and my Cobalt sold for 35k 3 years later. I have owned 10 boats in the last few years and owned 4 at one time, so I have no emotional attachment to any of them. If it's a deal I would buy it but the price is probably what it's worth, but not to me.

There are opportunity buyers and those that buy exactly what they want. If you want a "like new" 24 Checkmate w/ 300 for $20k less than new, you got this one to choose from, and I'm guessing maybe a hand full of others in the country. Unfortunately with the low demand for speed boats, this dude will probably have to come down another $5k but he has to start somewhere.

And i left out

I Coach so many of my kids teams I can't spend a lot on a boat now because there is no time to use it. I will be luck to use the Starliner I just got 7-10 times this season.

The poor boat hasn't had such little use in 3yrs! :poke:;)
Although it hasn't looked so good since it came off the showroom floor. :thumb:
Let me know if you need a janitor to keep it moving.

Thanks

I had someone detail the boat, I have to say its looks brand new. Inside and out! Checkmate builds a heck of a boat!
