2013 Traverse city fun run

Well-known member
we have set the dates for the annual TC fun run. august 23,24,25.

that being said it will be the same as last year but may run to a different tie up spot depending on what the wind decides to do. I have heard there are already a few that have rooms booked. Friday afternoon we will be staying in the bay most likely and just hanging out tied up. Saturday we hope to cruise some place and let the boats stretch there legs a little. most likely there will be some racing going on as usual:banana: if anyone needs info feel free to contact me via pm. as most of you know the bay can be calm, and it can get rough with the wrong wind so lets keep our fingers crossed mother nature cooperates with us like last year:drool:

hope to see some new faces this year:welcome:

Ross, What are the launches like in the area? Steap? Where do you launch?

My aunt lives right on the east bay on Old Mission. I'll have to give her a call.

the launch I use is "Elmwood marina" on west bay. it is an awesome launch, you would be fine there.

It looks like we will be making it this year Ross. I have been to TC many times but have never hit the water up there. I will pm you to get some advise on lodging. Looking forward to this run. :rof:

there will also be a group of us getting together on august 10th if you are interested.....not sure how many boats will show up that day but its possible to have a bunch.

TTT:cheers:

bring your boat up and head out on the bay with the cameras......you could get some badazz footage and pics:poke::cheers: beers on me:thumb:

Depending on the weather/wind that could be an option...Hmmmmmm

I should make some calls on rooms, since I don't think driving back that same day would be a good idea. ;) I'll talk to the wife tonight.

We will be there with the smallest boat and planning on trying to run with the Big Dogs. Some extreme boats will be there and don't want to miss out. This trip should put the finishing touches on getting my wife on board for our next vessel purchase. Yeee haawww.

I was at the OSO raft up this last weekend in Brookville, In. I seen like 20 boats, with all those egos they were all tied together in 2's about 300 yards apart from each other. I asked if they were here for raft up everyone says yes then all go separate ways...lol no runs up and down the lake or rafting up, lame as hell.

i honestly could care less about rafting up.....this event is more about getting to run our boats with others and getting cool pics and videos. last year was a huge hit and so far this year its looking like the number will be about double:banana:

The group up there must be better than the lame ass baja owners that were there.lol. Although there were a couple really nice boats. No one seemed interested in doing anything together is what I am saying. Even in this OSO thread they are talking about taking a trip and stopping for some swimming as a group. That's all I'm saying.

That raft up was about seeing how many sausages could fit on a baja:rof:

I like to take pics and I did not take one pic at the OSO raft up in brookville.

its hard to put together a run like this and not have the faster boats stop and wait for a bit for the group to catch up. that's what kevin(offshoreexcursion) is referring too when he says stop and swim. there will be boats that run 60,70,80.....and then ones that run 100+,130+,140+ here for this event. myself and kevin have put a lot of time into trying to keep it simple yet fun for everyone that comes....ie-not too far for the smaller slower boats, and not too short for the bigger faster boats. he will be running with the fast group as he runs 100+ in his Baja, I will be running with the slower boats. just another attempt to have a fun day on the water with nice boats and people with the same interests:cheers: come on up and join us:bigthumb:

That sounds great and way more put together. I would love to come but have you seen my boat in the engine technical discussion thread? It should be done Friday but I think I will stay a little closer to home this weekend, have a blast and be safe:bigthumb: next year I would love to discover michigan some though for sure
