20brx setup and rigging

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and am happy to be here! I recently purchased a nos 2013 20brx with no power. Have a 250 proxs, tm lower, 20" mid to put on it. I would appreciate any feedback on x dimension and prop selection, there is currently a cmc manual jack on it, 5.5" setback on those I believe. Any info that you all could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Erik

A good starting point would be to set the center line of the prop shaft 3" below the bottom of the hull. You can raise or lower it from there.

I have 2008 bowrider Yamaha 250 SHO 12 " and higher the beter solid motor mout brx may have more bow weight wildman can help

I had two 2000BR's...and I saw the best numbers on my fast one when I added more setback. I put some static 4" brackets between the hull and the jackplate as I was on a budget. It worked. I saw 74-75 gps (there was more there, but I kept running out of lake) With a 250 pro XS...you should see 80+. If you can get your hands on one of Wildman's set back brackets...DO IT!

Post some pics...about time someone put max HP on a 2000BRX.

Thanks for all the info. Have reached out to Wildman via email to buy the parts I need and am waiting for his reply! Here is a pic of the motor on the boat, it's a 300xs cowl as the 250 one I had was in poor condition but it is a 250proxs

I'm in the exact same situation! Got the same boat, same motor, both brand new leftovers except my 250 ProXS has the regular lower. Also picked up an 8" Bob's Action Jack that was used for only 3 months (so it's basically new) and a new billet aluminum heavy duty bearing carrier to put in the lower. I'll be putting an epoxy torque tab on it too. So once the snow has melted enough that I can get the BRX out of winter storage I'll be putting all this together!

But similar to Erik, I'm wondering about setback. Should I bolt the 8" Bob's hydraulic plate direct to the transom or can I stack it on the CMC 5.5" manual jack plate for 13.5" total setback? I have a really nice 25" Trophy Plus that I used on my previous boat so I was going to start off with that - have the regular prop shaft and 1.75 gears so I'm thinking that prop should be about right. Also wondering if I will need to plug some of the water inlet holes on each side of my lower unit so it doesn't suck air, but not sure if the BRX can even run with the jack that high. The lower I have has 4 water inlet holes on the front of the bullet and 8 holes on each side so it seems to have more than it really needs considering the TM has 4 on the bullet and only 3 on each side. Any advice on this stuff would be very much appreciated!!
