"Wanted" 21 - 22 ft I/O wanted or possibly O/B

You probably going to need more than a foot deep lol. Its total length is 26' including the swim platform. Its considered a 24' though.

Yeah I figured that, lol, guess I'll do some searching and see if anyone knows how much it needs to float, biggest boat I've had is 18'6" so I don't know what it takes to float one of these, I looked in the gallery at the brochure but I cant make out what it says about the draft.

My boat will get on plane in 3 ft of water, will this thing even float in 3 ft of water, like I said never been around a boat this size

I would say that 4' should be plenty but someone else can correct me bc im sure im not right on that. The bristol nascar race is in the end of march. That would be a fun round trip. Go to the race and bring home a big boat.

That would be fun, I've never been to a nascar race but we will be in Vegas then for monster truck world finals.

I just checked and it's 1921 miles to Bristol from here :eyecrazy:

Hell, buy Nick's boat and pick it up and throw it on your trailer when you make one of your runs to Indiana!!! Get paid to pick up your dads new boat!!!

In all seriousness, I don't think Nicks boat would be too much to handle, Nick just makes it look that way cause the phrase "I should probably get out of it now" is not stored in his memory banks!!!

Put a trollin' motah on the front for Pop, shallow water problem solved! :D
Actually thats not a bad idea... and I've seen it before.

My 21 is not a hairy ride, but when you try and cross wakes running flat out and flying the hull at 85+ things can get hairy.. lets face it, most anything on this board will get outta shape in that situation. When you're running a 100mph boat in one that runs upper 80s at a shootout.. you try and not let out for any reason other than impending death- thats the point at which I let off.

Its actually a easy running boat that has the top speed potential when the conditions allow it.. just ask Ron.

The 21Super has a 7'6" beam and is 20' 7" long and I'd say Ron is right about the draft.. bout 3ft.

Any luck finding a boat?

Still looking, he wants to wait another month to bring anything back anyway because he doesn't want to end up in a snowstorm on the way back towing with his 2wd.

He likes your boat but it's just too big, good luck with it, with warmer weather around the corner hopefully you'll be able to unload it.

If Nick still has his 21 then that will be the one.

I haven't been on here too much lately but I've been following this thread and had to put in my 2 cents. BUY NICK's BOAT. All of his stuff is super clean and he's a solid member of this forum. Getting a known boat is a huge factor and it also fits the bill perfectly at less than target cost.

As mentioned, most any I/O that will run ~ 80 is going to (should) have a big honk'in bravo drive and they just aren't great in shallow water, esp. combined with the weight of a BB in a smaller boat. If the depth is an issue, then you have to go the OB route. They will idle out in a foot of water, but yikes - they aren't going to like your lake on a rough day!

Good luck with your dad's boat - if you need a stop over point in SE MI, you're welcome here.

I thought they were going to go for Nick's boat for sure till today, my Dad loves it, they aren't thrilled about having to run high test because the only marina on our lake only sells 87, that means hauling it from town 30 miles away and then carrying buckets down the hill and out into the lake to fill it up, with a 60 gallon tank thats alot of buckets......

It's not like they can just fill it up on the way to the lake because it will be stored on a lift in front of the cabin all the time, so need something that will run on regular and Mom would prefer a BR, looks like a 2100BR might be the best bet, won't need as much water as an I/O and that would still be better in the waves than anything they or I have ever had, biggest boat we've had is my Eluder and I do just fine in the waves with it, heck I got around as a kid with my 14 footer in that stuff.

I hate shopping for boats, get all worked up about something and then have to keep looking......

I Haven't read all the posts on the 3 pages. I have a 2005 ZT 219. I sold the boat new and the owner has had me do all the service since then. He brought it in for storage in 2010 and never came back to get it. Unfortunately he died last Sept. and they want me to sell it for the estate. It is a closed deck, white boat with purple flames, grey accents, and the horse head on the side. It has the 320 hp. 6.2 and captians choice, and about every option he could get. He just used it to annoy his neighbors so it probably doesn't have 50 hours. I need to do some checking on price but it should be close to the 25K. I will take some pics if you are interrested, other wise I am going to wait to uncover it until spring.

John,

If your only close fuel source runs 87 add an octane booster...that's all the high test stuff is is a higher octane rating. We in Colorado have 85, 87 and 91. My truck's owner's manual says to run 87, but at our elevation I can get away with the 85. It's all about pre-detenation and a higher octane rating means the fuel's flash point is raised to stave it off...hence adding an octane booster should solve that issue. Of course do you research on it!!! I AM no expert on the subject...merely a thought!

Pretty cool that your dad wants to go fast!!! I scare the crap out of my ole' man when I "get it"

Ciao,
Brett

You can raise the octane level relatively economically by adding torco accelerator to the fuel.. a 32oz bottle treats 40gallons and raises 87octane to 91octane according to thier chart. Also here is another good calculator for figuring out the ratio of race gas to low octane fuel to get to the desired octane level.. its pretty handy. http://www.motorsportsracingfuels.com/OctaneCalculator.html

Yeah, if they want a bow rider, my boat ain't for them.

Good luck with the search.

So this is the prime candidate as it stands, the one at Roberts Marine, and it's actually a 2006, thanks for the pics Bob, though it's not a BR it will work, my parents both love it and I'm pretty sure I'll get to drive it as well :D I hope they can swing a deal on this one, Dad's been calling me all day to talk about it, looks kind of dirty since it's been covered up and untouched since sept. 2010 but I'm sure it will cleen up just fine.
