This is an awesome boat. Ross and I have run together many times and this is an impressive boat. It's fast, clean and needs nothing. We ran together in 5' waves in Lake Michigan this summer and the boat handled superbly. Whoever ends up with this fine boat will have countless hours of enjoyment.

Yes Ross has a very nice Convincor. This is one of them boats where pictures just dont due justice for this fine machine. Do you have the next one picked out yet Ross. Good luck bud and hope you sell it quick.

One of the first "other" Checkmates I took a ride in and experienced the difference, much different then my model, handled the rough better than I thought it would. This 251 is dependable and a great price for a boat like this with a newly rebuilt engine. Good luck with the sale.

I've also run with Ross and this boat on the bay. Runs great, sounds great, looks great. The rebuilt motor and serviced drive make this boat an excellent deal for the money IMO.

A beautiful boat for sure and owned by a true enthusiast - good luck with the sale ross. :)

Hey Ross,
Just curious where you got your tail pipes for the headers, did they come
with the cmi or did you have them custom made.
Not trying to rob your thread here but I had a set of Lightnings go bad on the inside tubes and the few sets of used ones I found are no ware close
to fitting a 251 with the narrow exhaust at the transom.

the exhaust was on the boat when I bought it so I am not 100% sure, my guess would be it came from cmi because it is big tube "4.75inch" and water jacketed

I'm curious, what is the difference between a regular convinsor and a convinsor gtx?

I think the oringinal 251 Convincor came out around 82 and used a trs drive and trans setup. Then around 89 they changed to the bravo 1 setup and called it the gtx. Then around 93 the 251 changed into a 253.

Is there an identity marking that states it is a gtx?
I have a 1988 convinsor 251 with a bravo 1.
Again I am just curious
Thanks
