279 Convincor prop..

Currently running a 3 blade mirage plus prop. Just curious if there is a better setup to consider. 454 (non-mag) and bravo one setup.

top speed 56 on gps.

Takes a good minute to get on plane. When I go wide open I run trim almost 1/2 way up with no tabs to get that 56. Bought the boat used, so not sure if thats the OEM setup or if they switch it around etc. its only my third season with this boat, so still getting used to it.

I know with this engine and size boat she aint going to be a screamer, but just looking for the best over all prop.

Thanks

To help us out, let us know what pitch mirage you are running. Also, please let us know what RPM's you are running wide open with your current prop. That will give us a good baseline to recommend from.

56 mph on GPS is pretty respectable speed for that hull and the non-mag (300 or 310hp) motor.

Buddy sent me a pic, 23pitch 3blade mirage plus.

Running 4300-4400 rpms, I though I should be getting closer to 4800 rpm for WOT. But i am a newbie to this all so please educate me..

Non mag motors have a lower rpm range than mags do. 46-4700 is where you should be. You could try a 21 mirage but im guessing you will end up same speed but be quicker out of hole. Other option is a 20 or 22 pitch bravo 1 4 blade or 21p revolution 4 prop. I prefer 4 blades myself . Much better cruise efficiency and better out of hole. Might loose a mph or two top end on your boat though. The other option is to send your 23 mirage to be labbed, yielding a few more rpm and easier to turn out of hole.
