the old fiberglass looks pretty worn out. what is the best way to prep this?
There are many others on this forum that could better assist you with the fiberglass work, but I would start by sanding it down with a 36 grit disc on a grinder. Take some pictures a little further away so we can see the area we are looking at, is that the hull of the boat?
Once you have all of the carpet glue, dirt, loose glass etc. off, clean the surface with acetone prior to installing anything over it.
still need to get the seat mounts out of there. unfortunately, they are the most solid structure in the boat
