" For Sale" 88 Exciter

ndaniels

Well-known member
1988 Checkmate Exciter. Solid boat, no soft spots anywhere, and has a 2yr old full custom cover. I'm planning on selling it this spring- figured I'd give everyone here a heads up, in case someone on the board wants it.

I'll sell it as hull, cover, and trailer only- $1500 firm.

It can be had complete tunkey with the 99 225ho, 8"detwiler plate, and seastar pro steering with the allison cylinder, and your choice of a prop for $6250. Its a very easy driving setup, I ran 79.9gps on dead flat water and I know there is some more in it.

The hull must sell first before I'll sell the parts or motor.

Any Q's post, send a pm, or email at daniels@wcoil.com

Thanks, Nick.

Well, I'd like to do somthing different with the drive on the 21 super:devil:

I dunno, a friend of mine has been talking me outta it and he makes sense... everything does fit into the garage and I can always save for a season or two for the drive:sssh:

I'm really tempted to keep it, ya know the feeling? :poke::bigthumb:

Yes i do, still hoping we can convoy to saginaw in the summer.

Nice boat, and cheap, man you guy's would laugh your azz's off if I told you what I had to pay to get my boat in saskatchewan, I'm not chiting you, you could easily get 12-14k for that boat here.

There are no checkmate's here, everone has a pontoon or wakeboard boat, when I tell people here I bought a checkmate most people have never heard of them, but the people who do know about them want one, I have only ever seen 1 other eluder and never seen an exiter, we have a mate dealer now but only since 06'. I think I'm gonna have to go for a drive and load up my semi with all these deals.

I have seen this boat and it looks great. I (and my kids) can confirm that it is not underpowered in any way - pulls pretty amazing wheelies for a boat that size! Nick - I think we're planning on an early spring trip (4/23) to St. Mary's. Trying to catch some good cool camping / cruising weather. Good luck with the sale - it's WAY too much boat for my buddy, he's still looking but really needs a starter boat.

Let me know what the plan is, I'll be around... the stumps should be cleaned out by then- very early spring the lake has floating stumps that break loose over the winter. They have been really good about getting them out of the water last couple of years, though, so you should be ok.

I.ve got the same year and model. How does the mooring cover fit and did you get it over internet or local. Bimini top is kewl too. I.m looking for a trailable cover any suggestions

it looks great - I'm also amazed you haven't sold it yet! If I weren't looking for a longer i/o project, I would be really tempted to take you up on the hull and trailer if you could sell the motor. I know where there's a black motor that might hang on there just about right...

Good luck selling it!

I had it custom made locally- fully trailerable and fits great. The bimini is actually an anchor shade made by taylor made- its only used when stopped and isn't included in the sale (i've used it when moving really slow in the rain, too)

If I was buying another boat cover, I'd check out this place: http://www.boatcoversdirect.com/

I've never used anything from them, but if you get one- let us know how it fits... the price is unbelieveable (mine costs more than double). Alot of the fountian guys seem to like em over on OSO...

I've got some serious interest from the Texas area... this might be moving out pretty soon. We just talked on the phone and have sent emails back and fourth, seems like a good guy.

Just giving everyone fair warning before he arranges the trip.
