Tim,
Thought I responded. If not, my apologies. Anyway, what a crazy market. Boat is beautiful and turn-key and no serious interest. Just low-ballers. Therefore, price is reduced. Call me for the deal of the century.

Is your boat still for sale?

id call number on other post 2 see he left it there 4 a reason my guess , only posts are a month apart .

it is sold. i wached it go on ebay for low 7's his buy it now was only 7500. i wish i was in the market at that time as it was a buyer at that price.

I've been watching Pulsare 2100 prices since the day they came out in 1994. They've been quite high (used) until just this year. Now the mid '90's are going for much less than they did just a few years ago, under $10k seems to be the new standard. I sold my Pulsare/Promax for $16,000 4 years ago, and I doubt I could get $10k for it now. On the other hand, the NEW Pulsares are MUCH higher than they were 4-5 years ago. 'Glass prices and outboard prices have skyrocketed.

Not to be critical JW, I do value your opinion, but what you are saying above makes absolutely NO economic sense! If the price of a new commodity goes up, the used commodity will follow... This is a principal rule of economics...no matter what it relates to.

My opinion is that the Pulsare's that sold for less than $10K where probably not up to snuff.

i agree with you xsv..all the others were listed at 14.5k and more..

Guys,

A 1995 Boat is now almost 13 years old.

So if a new one with a 225 is 30ish, what's a 13 year old one worth?

I have to agree with JW.

I've seen some really nice mid 90's Pulsares go for 10K-12K in the last year or so.

And the long decks seem to go for even less as the demand seems to be more for bowriders.

Personally, if I was buying a mid 90's Pulsare right now, I wouldn't be spending much over 10-12K ish. If I did spend more than that, then it would have to have a newer motor or some justification for the extra bucks.

the boat in this thread was clean! it only had 260 hrs on the whole package, and garage kept. it didn't sell the first time, so he had to lower his reserve. it was well worth the buy it now. i also seen some really nice starflites go in the 6 to $7000 range around the same time. based on what i was seeing i decided to get a new boat..........now that i am looking the deals are not out there at this time. just waiting for another one to come around and i will be ther to nab it!

The best way to see current pricing is to use ABOS or Nadaguides. Using nadaguides, if you add up a package like I had (all 1995 stuff) the prices have plummeted in the last few years. Add in the sales I've seen from the myriad online boat for sale sites, and they agree. Nadaguides and Abos pricing is generated from what the dealers are reporting for used boat sales.
At todays listed prices from ABOS and nadaguides, I can buy a nice clean used Pulsare for what I paid for my '95, but now I can buy several years newer.
OF course it's all supply and demand. When I sold my Pulsare I sold it for a few thousand more than book, but I had the only supply and there was big demand. With the economy down, gas prices way up, this has become a buyers market for boats. AND I'M IN THE MARKET :bigthumb:
Judging by the books, I'm looking for a clean used 2100BR with a 225 or 250 (3.0 motors) in about the year 2000 range for a perfect example, and maybe up to 2003 for a decent one. Hard to imagine that 2003 boats are 5 years old...........

Two big factors I've seen are the season and as the guys from MI know, the depressed auto-driven economy in Michigan and surrounding areas.

I have seen some sad ads on craigslist about guys basically giving away jetski's, boats, dirtbikes just to make a mortgage payment.

But In June, my buddy who desperately wanted a belly-button boat (19'BR 4.3V6 - everyone has one...) litterally couldn't get to any in the $5-$15k range before someone else put a deposit on them.

I agree supply and demand. Heck, I think I got a good deal on a nice sportfire just a few months ago...

Buy it now at 10K.

Then 7.5K

It supports my point.

Personally, it's a nice boat but I'm not big on the colour myself. Specifically the grey. And a 200 is less desireable than a 225 or more. And the long deck is less desireable as compared to the B/R.

And yes, as someone pointed out there are regional differences.

on the color issue, that is a good point. not everyone has the same taste. i looked at a white/aqua  and a white/purple pulsare, both clean boats, but i personally would not buy them at a fair price because of the color. i happen to like the grey,red/white in the auction, not my favorite, but could live with it. sell the motor off it and find a nice 3.0 for around a $1500 diff, and you got your self a nice pulsare for around $8500.

The location and local economy obviously has a huge impact on the pricing and that Pulsare for $7500, clean as it may have been, was a salt water boat and the color scheme likely did not appeal to too many buyers...

(By the way I have the same 1995 motor and if anyone can tell me how the seller got an hour reading from the ECU let me know because I was told that it was not possible.)

People may remember the 2001 2100BR that I almost brought home last year at this time for $13,600 US...it was a salt water boat and a P.O.S.. Remember the one at Storm King Marine listed on ebay. I thought that was a smoking deal until I say the boat in person.

Obviously the US market is very different than the Canadian one right now. I won't hold my breath waiting for someone from the US to buy my boat, especially with the dollar exchange now!

Supply and demand...I aggree, there are NO mid 90's Pulsare's for sale in Ontario for less than $18K. Beleive me, I have been looking for a long time.

If I sell my boat I WILL be shopping in the US for my next one!

Interesting thread........then what would a 1994 Black/silverflake longdeck that has been rebuilt with Custom Mantex stringers, new floor with glassed in Aluminum plates under the seat pedestalls, Hyd. Steering, Hdy. jack plate, trailer, Livorsi gages/bezels, new carpet, etc. etc. and an unmolested low hour
Merc 3 liter 225 Xri be worth???

well, it may depend on the condition of the bow mats........you talk about the "play pen" so much, it must be the reason for the low hours on the motor. LMAO

is it for sale?
