Just bought my first Checkmate...2011 Pulsare 2400 BR with 300 Optimax. Have owned many boats over the last 25 + years but this is the first one that does not have drains in the floor of the cockpit area. I didn't find this out until I started washing it and the cockpit filled up with water. Is this a flaw in the design or did somebody at the factory forget to drill drain holes in my boat?

First thing comes to mind is the drain plug was left in, hopefully not.:D How much water are you talking about? Flooded from the bilge to the cockpit area?

I'm talking about the seating area. There are no drains that allow water to drain into the bilge area. I had to "shop-vac" the water out.

There should be weep holes in/under the bench seat for water to drain back to the bilge area. I think your boat has the liner instead of the wood floor. The top/deck with the floor is one piece now.

I believe you're right and that makes sense. Guess they didn't think of incorperating drain holes

I find that hard to believe. Drain holes of some sort in the cockpit are kind of a "Duh, no brainer".
Same thing in bathtubs.

Was 2011 the first year for that model? Wouldn't surprise me if they forgot something like that :rof:

Sorry for the delay, I was out of town for a couple of days. I'll get some pics but there are definately no drain holes, just kept filling up like a bucket LOL. I will have to check underneath and cut my own if room allows I guess.
