Back button and Doubleclick ads

Chris,

I've noticed in recent weeks that when I am on the site (using laptop with IE8) and use the Back button, it fails to return to the previous page as expected. (I must add that it's not every page that it happens on, but usually 50:50)

When I click the down arrow to see the previous pages listed, I see the attached list of Doubleclick ad links.

Looks like they're being fired in the background as I go through to certain sites, and so I have to scroll to top of page to click on the breadcrumb to go to a section.

Thought I'd point it out in case you weren't aware.

Clear your cookies every time you are finished.

OR right click on the back button and select the page from there.

It has nothing to do with this site. It is all in the ads.

It just happened again, this time on my home p.c. I always clear my history/cookies out at home. This is only the second website I've visited since clearing them out. :brickwall: What is with these adds that they seem to overtake the controls?

I'm not sure what would cause that, we have google adsense ads, but we don't allow any pop-ups from them, we just have display ads from them.

The content that displays is usually related to either what's on the page they're displayed or it can also be related to your browser search history.

It's never happened on my computer or I would have done something about it.

What browsers are you using?

There are some ads that do it and some that do not. The ad itself is preventing you from backing out.

Googleads is another one that does the same thing.

I hate em.

Go into your internet options/privacy/sites and add any site you wish to block from using cookies. I think this has worked for the doubleclick.net ads here.

It's not only this site, it just happened to me on ebay. I will try to do what Matt just suggested. Do I have to figure which site the add is coming from to block it or do I disable for the site I'm viewing?

Same things been going on with mine for a week or two.
I don't clear the cookies every time but at least twice a week or so but
it still dose it any way. Im actually glad you posted this because I
thought it was just my home computer had a problem.

Me too!I thought my wireless mouse was toast.Like the button was doing the double click itself.

Weird...

It never does it on either of my laptops or my tablet.

I've tried right clicking on the back button on my browser and all of the pages listed are the legit ones.

We only run simple google ads similar to what many sites run. We don't have any pop-up ads or pop-under ads of any kind.

I just read through this Microsoft thread over on their support forums.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...-working/f0f0847b-6155-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5

I'm not sure if anything actually gets resolved in this support thread, but at the end it seems as if the consensus is that it's a I.E. issue mostly - having said that, I.E. works fine for me here and elsewhere.

A couple of posters seems to indicate that it's only an issue if you set up I.E. to block third party cookies as that causes google ads to load as separate pages.

I don't have cookies or third party cookies blocked in my browser and mine works normally. As MATT suggested, I also try to delete my cookies and temp files fairly reqularly too though.

Ive been using my same favorite hot milf porn site for a few years now,
don't know what could have possibly gone wrong. Plus their really nice
girls and I cant believe they would do such thing to me after I treat them
so nicely.

Just happned to my home computor right now. As Knarloid mentioned
it is a hit and miss situation here as well.
