Bill's Checkmate ZT 240 is born!

Makes sense to me.Hey how far are you from me. i'm in western KY. I thought about taking a little vacation up north and running the boat in some new territory. Maybe i'll head up to your neck of the woods.

"I LOVE THE ARMY"Where else can you travel to beautiful places, meet foreign exotic people an KILL EM !!

Great looking boat bill, Sounds like your getting the set up right. I need to get back in the water. I feel the need for speed.

Disturbed, Well, I have driven to Evansville, IN from here and it took me 6 hours not towing anything. Hopefully that give you an idea considering Evansville is just across the river. Come on up if you want, we have a blast on the river! More the merrier!!!

Thanks also Gus!

Remove that junk, fill the holes, put some gellcoat on the outside to make it all go away, and install a Gaffrig GPS speedo.......

OH, and quit draggin' ass......

I though of that already, but I do not want to see that patch job that will show uo down the road. Believe it or not, The regular gaffrig speedo is more accurate (on a river with a strong current) than the gps with out making two passes, one in each direction. I would like the spring mounted pick-up if I can match the holes, hopefully I will get a call about that. Man, I am draggin ass compared to the Pulsare!
I am more pissed at myself because I did not see what I hit, but I still say the solid mount should never be mounted on pleasure boats. Just my opinion

Bill, I have that same pick-up tube. I also boat on the river up here in Dubuque. I slide it up so it's just lower than the bottom of the boat. It rarely gets bent or clogged. I've also found that they are easy to bend back straight, but still is anoying. My Pulsare is a lot flatter than your boat, though, maybe it won't pick up any water if you move it that high.

Yeah, i tried it up higher and got plugged the first time out. I loweered it a bit because the speedo was also irratic when the pito was high. Life on the river huh? I am still going to see if I can get one of Gaffrigs "kick-up" types where the holes will match. I was on the phone with them today and forgot to ask. That damn memory!

I ran around 100 miles Sat, had a great time. Put a 24P Bravo 1 on and the boat handled incredible. Lost a couple of MPH, but for what I gained in handleing, it is well worth it! It handles like a smaller sport boat! We were out with a new 26 foot Velocity, and although he could blow me away with speed, everybody said the Mate looked a hell of alot better!
