blue printing

I would also like to know what is entailed in blue printed a hull. What does it tell you and does anyone else use any wax/slick on the bottoms of their boats. I've also heard that it was good to wet sand the pad and back few feet of hull for more speed. Is this true?

BLUE PRINTING THE BOTTOM ENTAILS USING A TRUE STRAIGHT EDGE ALONG THE BOTTOM OF THE BOAT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE RUNNING SURFACE HAS NO HOOKS OR ROCKER. HIGH SPOTS ARE SANDED DOWN AND LOW SPOTS ARE FILLED. ALL THE LIFTING STRAKE EDGES AND TRANSOM EDGES ARE SHARPENED. AS FAR AS WET SANDING YOUR PAD OR WAXING THE BOTTOM; MOST RACERS BELIEVE THAT THE ROUGH SURFACE (WET SANDED) FREES THE HULL FROM FRICTION AGAINST THE WATER AND SHOULD RUN FASTER. A FRESHLY WAXED HULL CREATES DRAG BECAUSE THERE IS NO PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTE TO AIRATE THE WATER AS IT PASSES THE HULL. HOPE THIS HELPS!!

Thanks again for the info!! I'll be working on my boat this weekend, Jcakplate to add and maybe a little wet sanding

How do you guys get your boat info on the bottom of the post?

wishihad... To post on the bottom of your threads:
#1. Go to the "GO" heading at the top of the threads
#2. Go to "MY SPACE"
#3. Go to "PROFILE"
#4. Go to "VIEW/EDIT (upper right)
#5. Go down to "SIGNITURE" and just type in the info you want to appear at the bottom of EVERY POST you do... It a one time deal and you can do back and change it anytime you like...

ALSO, to get an "Avitar picture" you can download one by hitting edit in the avitor section, then just download a picture of your boat or like me, my "cottage"...

Hope this helps...

Eddie Marine sells a spray on coating called "speed coat". I have never used it but others apply a frexh coat each season.

I did some work on my hull a few weeks ago.
It turned out great gained a few mph and the boat rides higher in the water, handles much better, and there was a big rooster tail at wot trimmed out that went away after did the work.
I have done some more work on it in the past few weeks trying to get rid of some chine walk and to get a little more speed, but im putting some new power in it so I wont know if the extra work I did helped me gain speed because of the new motor.
And if anyone is near PA (pittsburgh) and would like some work done to their hull, I would be happy to help.
