Checkmate $200 - not sure on model

After a quick call to Mike Combs at Checkmate he took some time to look up the HIN. The boat is a starfire and was delivered new to Hiway Marine in Quakerstown Pa. It was equipped with the 260 engine, with factory thru hull exhaust. It also had an optional cockpit cover and deluxe stereo. I guess I will find out later today if Spencer was able to go and get it loaded up. big thanks to Spencer for helping me out and Mike Combs for taking time from his day to answer a few questions.:thumb:

That's definitely a plus that it had a 350 to start with. Should make mounting easier than having to convert from a 4 or even a V-6.

Congrats Dave if you need a trailor to go get it let me know. Might be a little overkill but will work! My cousin might have a boat trailer as well I could check!

Schedule has not been determined yet, I know I have to get it before November when Spencers dad will need his trailer. I am busy for the next few weekends already. I have my cruise from the 2nd to the 9th After that I'm not sure whats going on. I will get it as soon as poss. as I am excited to start tearing into the boat.:)

So you are saying that I have a few more weeks to bust your stones for frequenting (understated) a boating website without actually having a boat! ;):D

If you guys want to restore it for me over the winter at no charge I'd be o.k. with that.:thumb:

Since it will effectively be a row boat at that point we won't have to worry too much about structure. A few sheets of plywood, some decking screws, and a few gallons of paint and we'll be all set.
