CHECKMATE OWNER'S RALLY 2010

Yah berry gave me a good ride back right before the storm hit late Saturday evening. I think 1989Checkmate seen us go by. I thought you would have showed up in something.

I had my old Formula for sale for 3 yrs ( i wasn't pressed) and sold it
2 weeks before the motor in the 251 went bye bye-again- go figure.
I really thought the 502 would be ready but a small snag delayed that.
And had my buddy drewman been able to be there I'd have come down
and rode with him..guess it just wasn't in the cards - I was looking fwd
to it and am sorry i missed it! I will be down there a week from Thursday
breaking in the new piece - it's a beauty!!

We talked a little bit about a lake norman get together next year if your up to it.

I would be in for a Lake Norman gathering. Got several leads on another mate and should be back in the water September I hope.

Did you ever make it back home have not herd a peep from you.

:bigthumb: And ndaniels Super Boat is cool looking and I like it and would look at one for sale.

Yeah, I posted a couple of pages back... made it home fine. Blew one trailer tire... thankfully on the side with the fender thats in bad shape (from a previous owner). It didn't hurt much of anything, just broke a marker light wire and pulled the front marker wire back into the trailer frame.. gotta dig it out and repair the wires. The tires are original looking, so it was time... Brian and I changed it in about 5 minutes along I-75. It was wierd because about 15minutes earlier I was telling Brian that I think these are original tires and I couldn't believe that they were in as good of shape as they are... on every other trailer I've had to replace the tires right away... so, its getting new rubber all the way around.

We're debating about coming down poker run weekend... I might check and see if we can get a covered dock again. Bet that place is packed, though.

How big of boat do you need to run in that? Or do they have like different classes for smaller boats do you know.

I don't know.. only thing I've heard is it gets really rough during the run. I'd be just watching it.
You can run any size boat.As for the water, yes it is rough. Most people line up along the shore early and wait so they don't have to run.The last few years they have let boats go in small groups instead of two big groups. This helps a bunch as far as rough water.Always a big crowd ,so plan ahead.:bigthumb:
