Convinsor, Enforcer, Maxxum??

Ok, guys I have finally made up my mind to ask for some good honest input. This past weekend I took my Enchanter I/O, out on my local favorite lake. The problem was with the wind, I was encountering 1'-2' chop. It was beating us up pretty bad and actually called it an early day because of it.
So I have already been thinking of an Enforcer, Convinsor, maxxum etc..that's 24' up to 28'. Between these models what is the best input for helping narrow my decision. I know I want something with good deadrise and gunwall height. My enchanter is a great boat but is limited to calmer waters and such...
Thanks for your input and help.

After 25 yrs in OB's I picked up a low hr (150 hrs) 2000 24 ZT and love it. My only advice is stretch the budget if you can, don't blow it out! keep a kean eye out, find a low hr convincor or ZT with bolsters, big block, bravo drive. Everyone's tolerance is different. But the Zt handles the 2 ft plus days just fine. Anything bigger I just slow it down some, with the bottom doing its job shooting the splash nearly 90 degrees straight out keeping the occupants dry.

I have been steadily watching the CL finds that SCT and a few others regularly keep updated. I definitely want to move up and yes not bust the bank to do it. I am trying to stay realistically under 15k but may bump if it was a really good find.

There are a couple of 281s in that range in SCT thread causing quite a stir. I would recommend going as big as your budget allows. 2 footers would be fine with all the above models no problem. My 283 just starts to get fun in 2 + and really comes alive in those conditions. Enjoy the hunt and keep us posted .

Yes also there is a huge difference in drivability adding 3 -4 ft especially in rough conditions . It also has a couple more ft of leg room from the back seat to the bolsters. My 283 is the first Checkmate I have owned that has no porpoise whatsoever . Very nice riding vessel !

The enforcer are nice but no cabin. Teh convincors depedning onthe year have a wide beam or a narrow not sure when that started the 283 is a solid all around boat. Good Luck and start seraching the threads for info.
