December 2013's Boat of the Month Nominations!

December 2013's BOTM Nominations (Please Choose Two)

  • Total voters

Your opinion is welcome but when you say that a picture that the owner, picture taker, and people that saw it live is fake. People will get upset for being call a fraud. Especially from someone that has only been on the forum for about 4 months. The 242 you have is a heavier boat than even some of the bigger boats when you come compair the hp to weight ratio. Just cause your boat won't doesn't mean other won't either.

That Convinsor looks like its doing what all Checkmates do best, Fly. I bet there would not be any credibility issues if that were an outboard with its butt out of the water. But since its an I/O…… Lots of car mota haters around here I would think.:D

Looks like BOTM to me. :bigthumb:

Hi Folks,

What is the status of the airborne shot?

Meaning, is that a professional shot that is owned by a professional photographer? If so, we will need permission from the legitimate copyright holder in order to use it.

Let me know, it's a great shot no doubt.

The shot was taken by Naples Images, I do think his work is copy written but I'm not positive. Maybe Keytime could chime in on this, he may have purchased the image from him.

We would need permission then.

He might give it if asked, especially if the watermarks are left in place. :)

Subject: Photo Usage Question

My name is Corey and I belong to a Checkmate owners boating forum, checkmate-boats.com. Every month we have a "Boat of the Month" nomination vote and this month, one of your images was nominated, and quite frankly as awesome as the picture is, it's a shoe in to win this month. It's a picture of a guy that goes by the screenname Keytime running his 283 Convincor at the LOTO Shootout and catching some pretty good air. The winning picture is displayed on the homepage of the forum for the month. It is in no way used for advertising or for any kind of monetary gain. It's simply a show off picture. Basically I am just asking for your permission to use that photo on the homepage of the website. The photo will not be changed in anyway and will still have all your watermarks on it. Might even be good for advertising! We just wanted to make sure it was ok with you being the rightful owner of the image. I attatched the image we would like to "show off". Thanks for your time!!

Corey,

No problem as long as it isn't altered.
Thanks for asking.
Jay

Wow! Haven't checked in for a while. Thanks for the kudos, guys.

As for the shot being real... when I showed it to a friend who runs LOTO with me, he said "big deal... I see that all the time." :D

I wish I had known Jay was shooting from that cruiser. I would have gotten into it. That was a mild run, quite frankly. My 283 has always felt solid and predictable when getting after it.

I will be ordering a few prints of that from Jay. I've been waiting to see if he has a shot of me in the Shootout as well. I will be ordering that shot garage wall size if possible. :thumb:

Thanks again. I'm really proud of that photo.
