Delaware River Philly Run 10/19/13

My family and I had a blast down the river from Curtin's marina in Burlington down to Philly. I was happy to see a fellow Checkmate owner SIM putting in at the boat ramp at the same time. Coincidentally I had briefly met Sim for the first time 3 years ago when I purchased my first Checkmate Pulsare 20 BRX and he said to join the club.

I had joined the club at that time but had not really got involved until recently when I purchased my second CM 2400 BRX. I am happy that I joined because it's certainly a great community for boating fun. We had a great time cruising all the way down the river with Sim and his great looking and sounding Checkmate. I wanted to keep the hammer down to keep up and was doing good until the Mrs said to keep it down so that the kids didn't blow out:)

We docked at Dave & Busters and did a little walking tour of Philly. We stopped at the Besty Ross house which scored major points with my 7 year daughter who was learning about her in school.

I posted a few picts of Sim in action and good ole Besty Ross house. I think my kids were ready to move in:)

It was a great day!

Yeah, we had a great time running into you the other day as well!
Will post some pics I got of your boat as soon as I can download my phone today.
You just confirmed something I said to my friend Chris who was riding shotgun.
When I saw that you weren't smoking past me with that 300 Merc hanging off your transom I commented to him that you were either being extremely polite or your wife was scared for the kids.:rof:
It was the last day of the season for us. Hope to see you again in the spring.

:thumb:Great pictures!! Thanks Sim for taking some great photos. These are the only ones I have on the water with this boat and the family. I need to figure out how to post them large instead of the thumbnails I posted of yours.

I was going slower for the kids sake but did open it up on the way back to beat the sunset. With the new Tempest Plus 23P I just put on it, it did 68 on the GPS at 6K RPM for a quick burst before I had to slow down.

I can't wait until the spring and if you cruise down the Chesapeake, I would love to join you and maybe with some buddy's that don't mind the speed:lol:

Sim only sat and put his shirt on for the photo op. Besides, it must suck when these real boats get passed by a similar sized boat with less horsepower that's not even a real boat. Must be embarrassing for them that's why their owners feel the need to make such inflammatory comments all the time. Haters gonna hate! :)
