Entertainer Rebuild

JAMESPERRY

New member
Hello , My name is James and I had a 1987 Webbcraft Corba that was in prefect condition until it hit a tree. long story. I started looking for boat hulls when i found a 1980 Checkmate Entertainer that the guy said had a blown up 383 roller engine in it. Guy wanted 600.00 firm for boat. It was his Baby that blew up and he had no time to fix. He had replace the floor about two years ago so I got it. The Cobra was a awesome boat that I was the second owner of. when I learn more about this site I will update the build in the correct forum and will be looking for advice on the build. Oyeah I'm going to put every that was in the cobra into the Entertainer.

:welcome:Welcome to the Forum James. Glad to have you aboard. Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your boat and hearing about your rebuild.:thumb: Jim

I copied and pasted from your FB post.

Welcome to the forum! Best of luck with your Entertainer. I've got one (outboard) owned it since '87 and love it! A good buddy owned an I/O just like yours and it ran great. I think you will really enjoy that boat when it's done. Keep the news and pics coming!

Thanks for all the welcomes. I will be starting a thread about my rebuild in the Restoration area in the months to come. Thanks.

This looks like the twin sister to the boat in NH on Craig's List that SCT found and I'm thinking about trying to pick up. The gelcoat on your looks nice too.

I'm hoping to wet sand and polish does the job. I'm on a budget with this build. Been looking for a trailer to start with but not finding the right length or price. I wonder if I can put this boat on a 20 ft trailer safety?

I was looking around in here at different treads and found that the boat I got has been in here a couple of years ago. W Vaughan's boat. Good to see the work that was already done.

80 Entertainer

I have a 1980 Entertainer that has been in my family since it was new. I/O 350. It takes a bit of work to keep it looking nice, given seats, carpet and clear coats all wear with time, but it's the best looking, best riding, fastest cruiser on the lake. I don't think there has ever been a boat with prettier lines built, and I hope to have mine for another 30 years!
