Evinrude 175 Rebuild/Performance Question

GeorgeofGeorgia

New member
Hello everyone,

I want to get my 79 model Evinrude175 redone at the end of the season and want some advice on who to take it to?

I would like to increase performance , but still retain reliable drive ability.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

George

I think you will want the carbs, intake/reeds and heads from the 235. Do a search on scream and fly also. You can probably find someone who will sell you the parts you need fairly cheap. If you pm racer( Al Stoker over there), he can tell you exactly what to change.

Gordon Montague of Florida does terrific work whether it be stock or mod on OMC's. I'm sure someone on " Scream N Fly " can put you in touch w/ him if not Stoker himself.
