Factory 2010 Convincor 270 Pics (Discussion Thread)

So about 600+ will work perfect!:bigthumb:

:lol:Yup....Sounds about right:devil:

I like the graphics....it is very tastefull and sharp...I'd buy it....If I had that much money that is.

I think I like how the back of the seat raises up.....It is a pain to climb over mine to get at the engine or lean waaay over and stretch out to grab an anchor or fenders out of the boxes.

Checkmate is now offering 21 models -- When most companies are downsizing they seem to be adding to there overhead.
Carrying new molds from companies that no longer exist is very risky -- Taking on a CEO or COO from that company is even more of a risk. I would cut down the models to the classic mates. It is what made this company what it is, but what do I know.
Quality sells end of story. Not just putting fancy guages and seats in but making sure its done right. What is not seen from the bottom is just as important as what shows on top. Making sure that was is popped out of the molds is good as what has given you the reputation you have right now. - loose that and Checkmate will become the next Baja.:shakehead:
By the way the 27 is beautiful naturally it is a classic mate.:bigthumb:

Love it Kip! I wouldn't change a thing on that boat. Great colors, great style graphics.

And Red, c'mon! A seat back that raises with the hatch is the ONLY way to go! My persuader was a pain to service with the sunpad hatch. I would have loved it if my back bench seat-back raised up!

Yep, sweet for sure. I hate reaching all the way over my back seat into the engine compartment, complete PITA. I do, however, love to watch the wife do it. That's why I am always saying, "Babe, can you grab me anyother beer out of the cooler." :bigthumb:

Very Very nice boat!!! I love it!!! Besides the Enchanter, the 25' Convincors have always been at the top of my dream boat list, that color sceem/graphics look great!! Man it must be nice to have a ton of disposable cash...:brickwall: I gotta start playin the lottery more often....

Outstanding looking boat with classic checkered graphics!!:thumb: I also like the backseat design. It makes it much easier to work in the bilge. All the Active Thunders have the same rear seat/hatch design, and I can tell you from experience that when you're on a Poker run, in the middle of the ocean, and something goes wrong, you'll appreciate having the backrest lift up with the hatch giving great access to the motor!! If I had the $$$ I would also be thinking HP525 under the hatch!!:bigthumb:

Also, does anyone know the weight of this boat with no motor?

The Checkmate Factory site states 4000Lbs, but that has to be with the motor.

Thanks.

HD

Yes, 4000 is the dry weight. I could run out to the garage and weigh mine real quick since it is motorless:mad: right now, but I am afraid the ole bathroom scales wont do it.

But, according to http://www.gmperformanceparts.com/_res/pdf/CrateEngineQRC2008.pdf

the assembled motor with cast iron heads weighs 602 lbs. Throw in your accessories and I would guess 650-700 lbs should be pretty fair.

How much would you factor for the outdrive...200lbs???

Maybe it is closer to 3000 minus power and drive???

According to Mercury the Bravo 1 is 125 lbs and the Bravo 1X and XR are both 130 lbs. I am assuming that is a dry weight also.

I would have thought the 270 would be faster than the 300 even with the notched transom.. 300 has about 1000lbs on the 270.

i love the boat, i love the way the back seat comes up, makes it so easy to work on and load etc. takes me an hour to do my pump, takes me 2+ to do my dads because my seat goes up.
love it.
only thing i dislike is the cheap bow lights they are using now, the white plastic horn in place of the nice stainles horn and i hate, and i mean hate the way the center rail looks on these boats!! its very very poor, it looks ok on a baja, but the zt and this have the mold all done and its all there then you leave it open and put an ugly rail down the center.
the rails on the outside are 1,000 times better on this boat and the zt.
i do like the boat tho.
a 30 with 525 may be in my future
