Gas tank?

blkz28

New member
Should I move my gas tank to the bow or leave it in the aft? has anyone moved them? how bad would this change the ride? b/c i want to put a 225 or 250 w/ a jack plate and other things and didn't know if that would be to much wieght back there. any info would be great?

Dont move the tank forward, leave it as far back as possible. If you're concerned about the OB weight, then start with no set-back and mount the motor in the middle holes, and see how she runs. Add setback if you determine the motor still needs excessive positive trim for best top speed. That's if you want top speed. If you want to ski all the time, then add a new tank to the front and keep it full for skiing and empty it to the back tank for top speed.

Gas tank question

I had the same thought, I am starting again on the 'Lake Trash' project and had the same curiosity. I was thinking about the possiblities of installing the gas tank in the bow as well. I have read where some have moved the batteries up front, but what about the gas tank. I have an 1978 Predictor with a merc 150
