Getting used to my new Persuader

Haven't used my boat in a month unfortunately. Yesterday we took the family out for the first day/ride together to Poor Mans beach on Lake St. Clair. My daughter is 1 1/2 and loved it. 5FE60FBB-A4DE-4E06-855E-431A076ED69D_zpsibwet9cx.jpg

Today we ran out to my in laws on the Holloway Resvioir in Columbiaville, MI.
The lake was glassy and only a couple boats out there so I ran her hard. Topped out at 69.6mph on GPS iPhone app, before my worn gimbal showed its ugly head and the boat started to turn hard on its own. Glad I was able to control it, and walked away safely.

Now back out to run around with the family. All in all, I'll take two days on the boat anytime!

That is pretty good speeds and I'm sure you can squeak a few more out of it. What was your rpm's at the 69mph. I was out there running the big end of the lake until 11 in the Jetmate. Had been out there camping since Wens so we came home early to catch up . Glad you got out and ripped it up !

Nice :thumb:

I had mine out a couple of times today. Got to 55 mph, and I was turning 4500 rpm before I started to run out of lake. That's with the 23p HighFive. I think I can turn a 24p Trophy or 25p HighFive. I'm on the lookout for one. Still have some issues with the trim tabs. Especially with three other people in the boat. Running solo, with full fuel, I can use just the drive trim/tilt to tame her.

Problem Child, I didn't have enough time to look at the tach while running that speed, and I'm glad I didn't. If I glanced down I guarantee I would have lost control when she turned right. I don't think I got up there until 12-1:00.

Hack, I still think a 4 blade would help my porpoisiong issue, but still not sure on my top speed RPMs. This winter I'll do my gimbal ring and that should help my control issues a ton. I won't be doing anymore high speed runs until then.

I think you'll be happy with the 4 blade. I know the HighFive is working out good for me, so I think a 4 blade might also be good. Running that 502, you probably shouldn't have any issues turning a 25p. I'm still learning the trim tab routine. I got it partially figured out with four of us on board (1 was a 5 year old). Like I posted, when running solo, I can just use the drive trim. Still need a heck of a lot more seat time to feel comfortable. But it is my first 'high performance' boat. Got a nice compliment from the guy on my lake thats running a sweet pickle fork with a 300 merc on the back. Says it sounded real good when I flew by him (he could kick my tail seven way to Sunday with his setup...).

Merc, it's a shallow bay in front of Mac & Ray's marina in Harrison. I've been there a few times, it's a nice family-friendly place to swim. I like the party out in Muscamoot, but not with the kids.
