Good Outboard Machine Shop - Ohio

Does anyone know of a good (experienced) Central or Ohio machine shop that could check and possibly true/rebore an outboard 3 cylinder block? It's really a sportjet, but it uses an outboard powerhead mated to a jet pump. I want a shop that has experience with outboard blocks, not just an autoshop with a lathe...

Short story - I bought (Ebay) a remanufactured (by a 20-year exp merc tech?) 90hp powerhead and only got 20 hours out of it after breakin before the bottom cylnder melted and crushed the rings. The cylinder is not scored, but I want it checked for roundness (and correct bore) before rebuilding. Upon starting the engine for the first time and during breakin, it had a somewhat metallic sound (but I just figured it was "breaking-in"). Now I really know what was happening - which makes me wonder if the bore in the bottom cylinder is correct. The builder said the center piston was sleeved to factory spec, and the upper and lower are 0.10 over. It's hard to confirm this with my $16 Harbor Freight Mic.

Interestly, this happened the same week "YellowFiero" blew his engine in the Enchanter due to a loose carb screw if I remember right.

Thoughts anyone? Also, anyone have thoughts/experiences with the FLEXHONE tool? Seems like it's easy to use to cross hatch the walls.

Thanks everyone....

BTW - My family used to have a Diplomat with a 115 Evinrude in the 1980s. Still miss that boat, it was the blue and silver metalflake combo that we bought from Kunkle's Marathon. I still wear my black and red checkmate jacket with pride.

Love the site!

Outboard shop....OH

The guys @ Knox Marine in Fredricktown , OH are good people and will work on Merc & Evinrude......always treated me right. Not sure if they do machining in house or not but they know outboards.
