Well I'm from New England and I do that sometimes, depending on what mind altering situation I got myself into before leaving the dock :shakehead:

I just drive fast enough so they self-retract. :D

Most of the people driving around with fenders hanging down are probably cottagers that leave their boats in the water. ;)
