Yoy may want to do a bit of research. I also have funny bunny bolt pattern on my steering wheel, when I was talking to Mike at Checkmate, he mentioned that it my have a square shaft. If thats the case you may have to get creative finding an adapter.

a square shaft...... really! don't have time 2night to pull the wheel but i guess i'll have to do that before i order one unless there is some one on here that can tell me what it is!!!!! thanks for all the help.

I could be wrong, but I just wanted to warn ya, may be worth looking into.

i looked at those wheels and adapters earlier today and wasn't sure if they were going to work for me due to the odd bolt pattern on my wheel right now. what adapter would i have to buy to make a 5 or 6 bolt wheel work?

The Grant 5 bolt adaptors work with Grant wheels. Not sure if they work with others or not. The only thing that matters is the helm shaft end on the adaptor.

But...

Ding-Ding-Ding...

We have a WINNER!!

Should be able to p/u an adaptor to fit your helm and a 6 bolt Dino wheel.

that is perfect! one last time this adapter WILL work on the shaft end right?

This Steering Wheel comes complete with 3/4 inch Tapered Hub - Slotted Key, which is the marine industry standard

...which is the same as the Grant adaptors..."on the shaft end"

You STILL need to pull your hub and verify that you have a 3/4" tapered shaft w/a keyway. More than likely you do, but.... :eyecrazy:

thanks for all the help- i will check tomarrow when i get a chance and make sure- if i do then it will be on the way:thumb:

well out of luck there! is is a pic of the front and back of the hub.... notice the back has a square "shaft" if you will! any more great ideas?

i think i'm getting warmer....... just called checkmate and the parts guy said that there is only 2 kinds of steering systems on the older srarflites. the one on mine with the square shaft is a merc ride guide system...... all i have to do is ask for the right hub for this system from whoever i order from! that's great but i can not find this wheel (dino above) anywhere online but a e-bay store.... i need to specify that i need this different hub so i kind of need to call a business that i can talk to. anyone know where i can find this wheel?

My 1979 Trimate II had a square shaft adapter, I put a dual cable setup in it out of a 16ft Bass boat so both cables run down the same side and I had a budget so I used a cheaper wheel that looks like a Grant all black.
