I also own a 1988 Spectra 171 from which I removed the fuel tank last fall for cleaning and to install new hoses. The tank is now empty so when I fill it this spring I will know it's size exactly. I believe it's a 21 gallon tank based on Spectra sales literature I have. How can I find this out?
If you pm your dimensions to JimPatroni he'll run the numbers for you. Thanks guys, I thought it was a 21 gallon. When I was out using it this weekend my gas gauge started showing less than 1/4 of a tank so I headed in, but when I put gas in, it only took about 9 gallons. Must have a gauge issue.
