HOW BOUT A CHECKMATE CAT??

You can bid it up to 24899.00 without hitting the reserve because thats what I have in and I did hit hit the reserve. I am bidder 7

I bet he sends me a second chance offer.
The problem is he won't know how high you bid unless someone else bids against you. Unless you meet the reserve. If you meet the reserve, your bid turns green and you are good to go.

Often the 'buy it now' is higher than the reserve. At $24899 you could easily have hit the reserve and you'd own it!

Big Red....

Your livin' dangerous!

A lot of times guys SAY the reserve is a one price ($25,000) but set it a little lower (say $24,000) so someone gets "hooked" on buying it thinking they're safe at bidding as long as it UNDER the "stated reserve" price...

The old "BATE & SUCKER-UM" marketing ploy...:sssh:

I would love to see that one go to a good home and be RESTORED...

I

WOOPS....

I was wrong!:brickwall:

I got an e-mail at work saying auction ended and $25,000.

Didn't say "reserve not met"...

Now on ebay watch list I see it hit $18,800 but UNSOLD

That is still a LOT of COIN for a project boat!!!:shakehead: JIM

For those who don't know how ebay works. If I would have put in enough money in to hit the reserve it would have automatically went to the reserve without anybody else bidding. Lets say the bid is at 12000.00 and the reserve is 25000.00 and I put in 26000.00 it would go right to the reserve of 25000.00 and stop until somebody else bumps it up.

P.S. I got a 2nd chance offer of 20K also Hay coop we might need to arm wrestle for it

I would like to own it. But 20k is a little steap I hate knowing somebody already hacked it up converting it from outboards to an inboard. Its one thing finding a worn out boat and then restoring it. But to get a wore out boat that somebody hacked on and by the looks of the pics they never took care of it. I don't know if I would give 10k for it. And I think he said it ran 69mph that sucks who would want a cat that only ran 69mph If I am going to give up my room to own a cat hull it better at least run 100mph. Has anybody from Checkmate said anything about this mystery boat that poped up?

Big Red, it was the last cat made. It was converted at the factory, they were never happy with the performance. When one of the managers left the company he bought it and took it with him.

Yes $20,000 is still too high.

One of the others will eventually turn up, or this one will again.

But Dayum, it was fun bidding on it wasn't it.
