Thanks for the welcome...My new (to me) Checkmate was bought from Richard,a broker at Village West Yacht sales in Stockton, CA. The boat was his own, and he bought it from a mutual friend. This boat has been on my "radar" for over a year, and we just put a deal together last week. This Tuesday will be my splash date, so....cant wait to get her in the water and drop the hammer! EFI 454 Bravo I , a brand new 4 blade ss prop, Im sure she will be an "E ticket" !! Ive run next to her in my Wellcraft Nova II, for a short time, as she pulled away quickly from my older (HEAVY) Nova. Ill post some pics of our shakedown cruise. Ive heard she can be a handfull at speed, and the advise has been to not trim to the sky, and be conservative with the tabs, too. We are looking forward to running arounf the California Delta, Tahoe/Shasta/Commanche lakes...and maybe an occasional trip to Havasu..?
