I/O Cooling Question

Is it normal for more water to come out of one side of the exhausts rather than the other?
Had it on muffs today in the driveway and I'd say that about 60 percent was coming out of the left and 40 percent out of the right.
Didn't seem to matter which side of the muff.
 
You never really get a poper example of what is going on with the cooling on muffs. It's just not the same as having the water pump pull from the lake. Don't worry about it unless you see elevated engine temps.

Stand right behind it and have someone rev it up a little and see what happens. lol. Johns right until your under way on the lake your just not getting the volume of water to move it equally. You just cant get enough of the sound of the BBC can you.

You are so absolutely right. I've got one neighbor 150 or so feet on the right ( just a field of cows on the other side) and I've been afraid of pissing him off cause I've been hangin'' out in the cabin at night with the stereo cranked. I mean Cranked.
Was really, really hesitant about the idea of startin' up the engine in the driveway today to check out a couple of things. Loud freaking engine. No Captains Choice or whatever the freak you call plan B.
Put on the muffs, figured out how to deal with no choke and was testing some things out for an an hour.
A while later my neighbor Ron comes across his yard to mine. He's grinning. Tells me that our neighbor across the street just headed down south this morning in his RV to see the Nascar races. "Should'a stayed here", he says.
"There's nothing else that has that sound." "Any guy that doesn't like that sound there's something wrong with".
I agree. So does the wife.
 
Sim you need use starboard or port from now on as too not confuse me.
On the muff alot of times you'll see more flow on the port side because thats the side the water comes up on. I have the same set up as you if you have any questions.

My bad. You are correct. It was the Port side.
The validation assures me.
Especially from another "Pink" guy.
 
My boat doesn't have captains choice either....always thought I would want that. but running last year I realized even if I had it why in the hell would I turn off that beautiful blub blub???

Getting a random chubby hasn't been a source of embarrassment in a long, long time.
 
Oh Sim, maybe there will be a story about your neighbor not approving of the melodious voice of that fine machine of yours. I am afflicted with one of those neighbors also. I call her the 'Test Pilot' (from a broom factory). Kind of makes my day to fire up the boat regularly. Makes her really unhappy. I did offer up a ride in the boat.

My last boat always had more water coming out of one side then the other, especially if the boat was not level. Ran like that for years, never a problem.

I'm fortunate that my neighbor and his family are pretty cool. Except for his wife being scared years ago by our barking Border Collie. (The dearest, sweetest dog I've ever met in my life. She just wants them to love her and is vocal about feeling feared and rejected by these cat-lovers)
He is no "Test Pilot", nor is his lovely family.
And basically he's told me he gets a chubby off the sounds as well.
I'll refrain from firing her up after 11pm.
The cows on the other side don't care 'bout nothin'.
 
Hey Sim, by the way, love your new boat and like the others posted its
common for the water flow to be unequal when on the muffs.
You can always change the impeller for your own peace of mind or ask
Boatman when the last time he changed it.
When the water quits coming out altogether then its time to panic so
until then hammer down and let the big bog eat.
