Interior trim

93 Pulse

New member
Hi guys

New to the forum. Owned the Checkmate for 8 yrs
and the interior is starting to look pretty tired
so I will be doing a resto over the winter but I would like to start
collecting the supplies now.

Does any one know where i can get replacement plastic trim
that goes around bottom of the dash. you know the one thats
always falling off.

I would also like to replace the angled Alum. trim that holds the
"bilge" cover.

Any suggestions on where I can find this stuff would be appreciated

Thanks!

For the dash trim you can look for wheel well trim. Many truck accessory stores have it. There is the stick on type as well as the pinch on type.

If you go with the stick on you can rivit the corners to keep it on.

These guys manufacture all kinds of trim. http://www.dawn-ent.com/ and can be found all over the internet.

Thanks guys

I'll start looking for the plastic trim. Any ideas for the "bilge trim". Looks like a pain to fab myself with all the curves. I'd love to post pics
but it wont let me yet prob cause I'm a newb

Thanks again

I'm guessing you mean ski locker trim? I don't know but I wasted to help you avoid confusion.

I was wondering what the official name was for the storage area. thanks

the trim is pretty beat up- beyond painting- I would be nice to get some new

Do a google search for "z-bar aluminum extrusion" there are plenty of companies out there that make it, it is just a matter of finding a company that makes it in the right size to fit the application...

Welcome... I have been slowly working on my interior also. I went to a local supply store for auto body shops and they had a whole display of different trims. I bought a 50' roll of trim that has chrome on the top and black plastic on the bottom. It is self-adhesive and looks great. That little bit of chrome really sets off the interior. I think I paid $65 for the roll and only used about 15' of it. So now I have some for other projects.

If you still have the trim piece from the dash, you can remove the old adhesive and get some 3M trim tape, and stick it right back on. I did mine 2 years ago and it still holdin on perfectly.
As for the ski locker, you should be able to take that aluminim trim right out get it back in shape, give it a sanding with a light grit paper and polishing and it will look almost as good as new!!
