Remove it!
I've had several V6 mercs with oil injection that worked fine early on.However,when the motors get several 100 hours on them,I would have the oil injection removed.This advice came from several merc techs that said powerhead failure was largely due to oil injection failure.This was true with alot of 80s-mid 90's motors.The last motor I ran for 15 seasons with no problems and ran fine up to the time I sold it and repowered.I have not removed the oil injection yet,but after reading this post,I might need to consider,its an 04 250efi but only has 240hours on it.Thanks for the reminder!---------JB
