Lake Gaston Boating

Looking for information for lake gaston. thinking about going south and stay monday thru friday. is it crowded during the weak or anything special. Looks nice on google maps. how about a place to stay near a ramp that's not to expensive. Taking a new 2017 chaparral 19 h20.
Any comments are welcome.
Thank you in advance

I think there is an HP limit on Gaston. Try Lake Wylie, Hartwell, or Norman in the western NC area.

Good luck-

I was on there with my Enticer and stayed at Americamps. I didn't find it too busy on the early June weekend that I went there. This is Kurtser's home lake now. He keeps his slutty Vision there.

I keep saying I'm going to go there, but never make it up (it's about 1.5 hours from me.) They have monstrously large catfish there, a couple of state record fish over 100 lbs have been caught there in the past few years. It's a pretty long lake, I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of room for you there no matter when you go unless it's a holiday weekend. Plus the John Kerr Reservoir (even larger) is really close, too.

There is no horsepower restrictions on Lake Gaston. I live there. It is 29 miles of paradise. The only time the lake is crowded is the the 3 main holiday weekends. Besides that I ride my mx 16 checkmate across the main lake with no problems. Your big boat would absolutely love it. I live on pea hill creek. Your best bet would be to rent a house. It's really country down here. You might could get a hotel room at Club across the water from me. Don't go west past steel bridge. After that the water gets shallow. You would be okay besides that.

Some guy just caught a 149 pounder about 3 months ago. If you are interested in night life the Pointe and Shady Shack are 2 places you can check out. I live right on water on pea hill creek. I have a boat ramp right behind my house. If you guys decide to come down I don't mind showing y'all around the lake. Regardless of what location you are staying I know my way around the entire lake.

Lol that's funny I remember it being a cow pasture right by the lake back in the late 80s early 90s. Now it is all big money. A good lake front lot is going to cost you about 300-400,000 nowadays. People up north with $ have caught on now and are coming down and tearing down and building mansions left and right. Just about everything is completely slammed built up around the lake since early mid 2000s. It has driven the taxes up ridiculously around here. It has driven almost all of us non millionaires off of the front lot. A few of us country bumpkins are trying to hold on to what we have got, but there is not many of us left.

Please tell me you still have that sweet ass Predictor!

Sorry to see it go but just needed something bigger. Made out ok on the trade in.
It's at robins marine over near lewisburg. The may just keep it the 2 mechanics and the owners son really liked it.
Will keep a eye out for you this summer.
Thanks to everyone for responding.
