Leaky Boat? End of Day Drainage

When I pull the drainplug on my Enforcer on the trailer I usually get a gallon or two of water coming out.
Can't figure out where it's getting in. Any ideas?

Hi Sim. I resealed the drain plug, sealed the steering, throttle, and nozzle cables, the ride plate, parked the boat with it's nose in the air, sat in the engine compartment and stared at the engine while Mrs. Jim tooled around the lake, the whole bit. The Ah-ha moment came when she settled off plane approaching the dock and a small bit of lake water sloshed in to the corner of the engine compartment air vent from the wake as she slowed. Received a couple of interesting glances from dockside as I climbed out of the engine compartment. I shrugged my shoulders at them and explained that I was just down in the basement watching the game on big screen.

I had the same issue. Turned out water was entering the boat from the rubrail. Spray was hitting the underside of the rubrail and coming in at the deck/hull seam. I dropped the rubrail and resealed the deck/hull seam and all is good now.

How did you know beforehand it was rubrail?

Engine cooling system leaks can also do this. Steel parts corrode a bit and will weep at high speeds (when pressure is greatest). Look for any rust trails on engine or weeping freeze/core plugs on block. Especially if you are salt/brackish.
