Looking to buy 15 to 18ft

Hi Everyone. Im looking to get something in the 15 to 18ft range as a little backround I've owned 2 small Hydrostream 12' Hustlers and a couple of basstrackers.

Im really looking for something like a Predictor in nice shape for a good price. Im currently in the process of getting rid of my basstracker as my Fiance wants a boat to ski and tube on. Im trying to stay under 2000.00 but I may be able to go to 2500.00
My fiance is in Grad school for a docorate degree and so my funds are very limited if I knew my boat would have sold in time I would have been all over the Predictor that ended on ebay. I even made a couple of bids but decided not to go over 1500 until i knew my boat was sold. If anyone has something like this please email me at mzortman@hotmail.com I hope to have my boat gone this week. Thanks everyone
I've been watching this site for a while now. Oh BTW Im in Ohio so Im NOT a MI fan

After looking around at a lot of Checkmates I'd really like to find a Predictor in good shape. I dont mind if it needs interior work or a clear coat little things like that.. Boat must be solid though. If anyone knows of any 2500.00 or under please let me know. Thanks

Hey Zman, you should check out Pontoonladys open bow predictor. How far away are you from SW michigan?

Im in Dayton, Ohio which is about 2.5 hours to Mi. Not too bad at all. I didnt realize thats what boat she had. She had Sent me pictures I'll have to go back and relook. All of the ones I've seen were closed bows I had no idea they made an open model.

I seen that playmate and talked to that guy from ebay last week. That was a super neat boat and he did have a motor on it and took it off.

I'll make a post on S&F too. I dont think a viper would do quite what I wanted and my buddy has a nice one that I still havent got to drive yet. A vector wouldnt be bad though. Did you go to Rumble on the River in KY? I was there along with Lakeraider and Peter Warby

Cooper I dont mind putting some work into one. So far of the checkmates that I seen I think my favorite is the Predictor but Im willing to settle for something nice.. I may be in the mist of working something out with Pontoon Lady.

Yes another buckeye thats why I wanted the one off ebay because it was a Predictor and the best colors Scarlet and Grey

Where do you normally boat at? I boat most of central and southern Ohio.

I lived in Mt Gilead until last year so I know bucyrus pretty well LOL. I use to work in Marion for Alltel Communications right out of high school.

If you know anyone looking for a basstracker Im selling mine for a very reasonable price. 1988 17 ft basstracker tx17.

I have a guy comming to look at my boat tomorrow so Im going to bump this up to the top. My top 3 boat choices right now are

Checkmate Predictor
Baja 16' Sport
and 15' Hydrostream Viper

Although Im taking 2nd and 3rd looks at Pontoon Ladies Enticer

I have a 1983 Predictor, Metal flake blue and silver. It has a great running 1983 Mercury 80 hp, with power trim. I can e-mail you pictures if you want.

Here's the deal. The boat is in mid-project. I determined that the transom was water logged (although there are no stress cracks in the fiberglass), so I cut the back of it out, got all the wood out, and I am just about to hire a fiberglass repair shop to install the new transom.

I have the deck and the hull split (this sounds much worse than it is), to facilitate getting the transom wood out, and to remove the foam floatation from the rear corners.

Once the transom is done, I have a new transom plate (made out of stainless steel, the original was steel), I will mount the engine, re-assemble everything, and would cheerfully give you a good deal.

This is our family's third boat (we also have a 31' Express Cruiser and a jet boat), and I undertook this project because I like the lines of the boat, and wanted to keep it. At this point, I would be happy knowing it went to a good home.

Last time out, it ran 40.6 mph on GPS with me and a full (18 gal) tank of gas, at 5,800 rpms. I bought this boat 3 years ago, and immediately spent $1,100 on the engine, some ignition stuff, and a new power trim pump. The engine runs great, and at a cruise speed of 25 mph, gets almost 6.5 mpg ( becoming more important by the second, as prices go nuts)

I also put new tires (car sized, not itty bitty trailer tires), hubs, and wheel bearings on the trailer, so it is very road worthy.

I installed an electric control panel for the lights/bilge pump, etc. I added a speedometer, and an hour meter (73 hours during my first 2 seasons). I also replaced the "suitcase handle style" grab bar in front of the passenger seat with a stainless grab bar.

If you were interested, I would also sell you just the boat and trailer.

If you are interested, you can e-mail me at either bstreb@tiarayachts.com during the day, or wstreb@bww.com for my home e-mail.

Already replied to the email. Looks like it will be a really great boat. Im still awaiting someone to by my Basstracker but I have yet another person to come look at it this weekend I'll keep in touch

Congrats on selling your boat! If you come up to look at Pontoonladys Enticer (open-bow predictor) let me know, if my schedule works out I could meet you there.
