May 10-12 OPA Race on Lk. Hopatcong?

Not gonna happen for me this time. Weather isn't looking good and if by some miracle my hydraulic steering shows up I'll be putting that in on Sunday. If not I might get out and test a prop that's been sitting here for a couple of weeks waiting for me to get it wet. Keeping my hopes up the hydros will run here on Greenwood Lake on September.

I might get over on Saturday afternoon for an hour or two to see what's going on around the area - hoping to see some testing.
If anyone else is going to be there Saturday, PM me.

Sunday won't work for me to be there for the racing (hard to get the rest of the family excited for this - especially with Mothers Day).

Yeah, very poor planning IMHO. Running this on Mother's Day has got to put a dent in the attendance numbers. Hopefully they run it again next year and on a different weekend. Heard on Scream and Fly that they don't have many entries for the 21 foot SOB class but they really didn't give people much time to prepare a boat for it. Hope it works out and the class starts to grow.

I headed over to Lake Hopatcong this afternoon with the son to check out the APBA Offshore Race group before tomorrows raceday.
Here's some pics from our wander around. A big thunderstorm rolled in just as more boats were prepping to launch and practice, so as soon as that broke, we headed home.

Pirate Racing team launching as we arrived.

Other teams about. I also got some photos on my iphone of the main team base/field, but these were from a better camera.
