May 27th Run Around Manhattan

Moments like that helped sell the Enticer.
I can't wait to see his face when he drives it first next Monday.

He's never driven a boat before, let alone an overpowered 16' firecracker!!!

Two things.

1. What time are we meeting on Sunday?

2. Assuming the lake is high enough to access the beach on Greenwood Lake is anyone planning on coming up this way on Monday?

I'll know more on the condition of GWL tomorrow or Saturday after I splash the boat for a bit. I know the ramp we used last year is usable (barely) and as of yesterday the boat that was stored in front of the ramp has been moved over. Hopefully it isn't moved back, I'll send the owner of the boat a message on FB letting him know I plan to start using the ramp.

John

I was thinking 10:30-11 on Saturday, but Sim knows the timings better, so I'll let him decide.

For Monday I will be busy till after 1. Then we're going to head out with the Starliner and Enticer (he passed his NJ boat test this evening with flying colours).
I think Greenwood is a better lake to get used to the Enticer (after screaming brumm-brumm in it on the driveway!), so I'll mention it to him on Saturday, but it will be closer to 2:30 by the time we're there Sunday.

Are there any other launches with plenty of space to park a few trailers? The one we were at a few weeks ago was good - just asking in case it's busy when we get there.

Doubt that we'll Greenwood with you this Monday as there's a good chance we'll be out part of friday, certain all day Sat (Philly-knarl and Ram)., certain all day Sunday (Manhattan with you, knarl and hopefully Ram) and Monday would probably be day 4 recovery and bbq.. But you never know.
It's so much easier when you live right on a body of water as do you. And I am jealous. My fantasy is to live on a lake and hop out for a water ski after work every day.
Some day.........some day.

I figured that Sim. I used to commute daily to a dealership only a few minutes from Kris' house, its not a bad ride but down to your place is rough.

So what's the deal for Sunday then? I'm going to guess Kris meant 10:30'ish on Sunday and 2:30'ish on Monday.

I would say go to Willow Point to launch if you're going to arrive later in the day. That whole road you were on the day I met you is littered with marinas but Willow Point has a lot of property and is on the main lake. We passed it on the way out from where you launched last time.

So what time for meeting Sunday morning Sim?
New Jersey Tpke extension exit 14B, I believe is the boat launch. Not the main marina-the boat launch. How are you guys for 11-11:30? Your call. It's on Morris Pesin (Pessin?) drive according to Google Earth- not the opposite side of the Liberty State Park where the restaurants and ferrys are (as well as marina and pricey restaurants. We just want the barebones launch, about 10 or 15 bucks to park (machine takes credit cards and gives you a ticket for your windshield. There's a portapotty and a diner 5 minute walk away) and you come out around the Statue and Ellis Island.
You guys call the time. Supposed to be in mid 80's with a thunderstorm chance (???). We've got each others phone #'s if we get lost but my vote is we shoot for 11ish with a 3-4 hour cruise.
Opinions? Suggestions? Hopes and fantasies? Who's in? We've got about 5 on our bote.

11:00 suits me fine for Sunday. I know the ramp location - passed it many a time on way into the park.

We'll be 6 including the 2 kids.

(John - 2:30ish for Monday)

11 works great for me as well. Just 4 of us are definite, might have one or two others along for the ride. I've got the tank as full as it can get and 25+ gallons in cans in the shed. Should be good for the whole weekend. :)

Looked on Google Maps, I see exactly the place you're talking about Sim.

Royal Screw Up!!!!

I was just on the website for my favorite living band (Dark Star Orchestra- John, just ask your wife who they are) to find out what time the show starts tonight-my wife and I see them whenever their tour stops in our town. Saw something very disturbing.
This Sunday the 27th they will be playing outdoors on the river in Philadelphia. Right where we're going to be tomorrow(the day before)!!!!!!
I could kick myself.

I've heard her mention them. They've played just over the mountain here a couple of times for a jamfest thing they do at the ski area in the off seasdon but it was always bad timing. Next time I'll give you a head up. Its the same place that has the Renaissance Festival every summer.

They will be at Mountain Jam again this year but what bugs me is we could've seen them from
A.a bunch of Checks
B.on the water
C.for free

As if yesterday couldn't be topped.....

...there was today around Manhattan.

I can't add too many comments......too tired.....so I'll let our photos do the talking.

Enjoy. We certainly did!
