Mercury exhaust tuner - Any difference

I had access to a 94 merc 200 xri, my current motor is a 94' 175 merc carbed. I pulled off the exhaust tuner from the 200, will this be worth putting in my current motor? Advantages/disadvantages??

Thanks!

You would gain a little bit on the upper rpm range but not a lot. If you already had it apart then I would install the 200 tuner. If not, then I would wait untill you do have it apart.

Mich Pulse;

In stall the tuner. It adds about 10-15hp. You'll lose a slight amount on the bottom end which can be make up with timing. It's easy to install. Use red loctite on the tuner bolts. You only need a set of wrenches, a set of sockets and a 90 deg. snap-ring pliers is handy or two screw drivers. I can do it in about 45 min. but I have done several. Remove the lower unit then the midsection and your there. The only trick is the ring on the splined tube. If you need more details let me know.

Then you put on open exhaust like jkeiper did on his, the sound is sooo cool!
I really like the way jim's sounds when it is idling out or comming back down again

I have pictures of a free exhaust mod. You open up the bottom of the mid right above the cav plate. Sounds great when needed and you can cap it off when there are noise restrictions

Thanks guys, I probably will put in on early spring and will most likely have a question or two. But, for right now it's getting the arctic cat tuned. Thanks again
