motor advice

I think EZ meant the pin was removed for another great thread to blow up with good winter conversation. Your projects are always interesting and good entertainment. Keeps the long cold months a little less boring.:bigthumb:
ah makes sense.. i thought he meant like a greneade ready to go off.. as in my motor.

and hey i try!

E85 is great stuff..but has limitations...works great in certain race setups(which I am working on) with proper componants...but to throw together a 14-1 big block in a boat and run long periods under constant load...like I said the pin has been removed...you can run high compression...just do not think thats going to fly..also remember you are going to burn a lot more of it..keep that in mind...

Not sure how to figure the savings in marine application, In automobile industry we were able to figure out that if E85 is 33 cents less a gallon then regular gas it is a break even for difference in mpg loss, anything more than 33 cents and you are ahead of the game.

i have used e85 in many applications now. and i realize i am gonna burn more. about 30 percent more than pump gas. it will even out with 93 in price per outing but it will be worth it. i will have a high compression motor that i would normally have to use race gas in..

i normally cruise with short bursts of wot. but the way its getting built i trust it to a full wot run for a few miles minimum!

the race application im using e85 in is the eclipse spyder my friend and i built * aprox 800 awhp* 50 psi and around 80lb/min of flow we also drove it to michigan and back to tennessee last weekend with no issues

anyways. i am very familiar with e85 and its currently being used in my daily and i have set up a few v8s with it with great success..

dual widebands are being fitted to my headers. and i will be purchasing a stand alone knock sensor setup. *although with e85 im not worried about knock all that much there is a much higher ceiling for error than pump or race gas*
