NEW BECKMATE 350zt PICS

slogan

Big Red--
I never understood that slogan from Baja either. It must have worked for them. Anyways, if you understood the slowgan you would not bash Baja's, er, Checkmates.

Until then,
"Speed Changes You."

I am not a big fan of the OBX I like a swim platform to sit on and drink cold beers. Its a good looking boat and I like the 4 bolsters with a bench. Once you have a swim platform to sit on its hard to give it up. My favorite new boat is the 2400 closed deck with a wildman set up 75 mph all day 1 300

Dont understand this comment:sssh:
theres enouph room to stick a small platfoarm on each side of the outboards. lol
i love a platform as well, but that boat over all to me is a great idea and brings the outboard guys a bigger boat if they want one. looks like its roomie as well and true to the mate name.
i dig it. prob wouldnt buy one, but i dig it.
24 is to small for me, im on the ocean even my 26 is to small i need a 28-30 atleast and a 31-33 single is what i relly want. work sucks tho, so i will deal with what i have for now, hopefully checkmate turns around to checkmate again and i can consider them when my new boat day comes:bigthumb:

We seem to be in very similar situations. I'll most likely be keeping my boat for a while as well.

hac, yea if work was better i would be looking for something to buy or order for this winter to use next season, but the way things are going i see myself with my 26 for atleast next season unless things make a real fast turn around which i dont see coming. but i love the boat so im in good shape:cheers:

Personally, I am OK with Doug ADDING molds to the line up as long as he is not REPLACING existing ones. So far he has not demonstrated he is ditching Checkmate styling. Boat builders swap molds all the time. Sure it would have been better to have retooled new decks, but I understand the costs involved.
Would I buy a new Beckmate? No, but there are a bunch of existing models I wouldn't buy either. I think those who have already mentioned that he he is trying to expand the buyer base are correct. However, if the company profits because of it, the end result will be more funds for R&D.
I think the jury is still out on this one and I am prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being.
