New Factory Mooring Cover pics

Sam I am

Well-known member
Well, I just got my new cover from the factory. It fits pretty well, but I thought it should fit around the ladder a little better than it did. Having said that, I'm very satisfied with the purchase and it will keep things a lot cleaner during the summer. I was having a problem with spiders in my boat life last summer and every once in a while a bird would perch in the lift.

It fits pretty well over the front and sides...

But the back could have fit better around the ladder...

Looks great, I have a black factory cover, but also put a plastic tarp over it from Menards, it has kept the cover looking brand new.

I would not be happy with the way it fits around the ladder. I would be making some calls to Checkmate.

Unfortunately, I agree. The canvas shop could probably make that right in short order.

Hi there, I agree... give Mike or Kip a shout on Monday morning. I just went out and measured the distance from the side of my Pulsare 21 to the first rail of the ladder...it's about 7 inches... the measuremnt to the far side of the ladder is 18 inches from the side.

That particular cover looks like it would fit the Pulsare 21 perfectly because the ladder is that much closer to the side. I'm thinking you have a cover that's meant for the Pulsare 21, looks like there is a tad more on the bow that would make up the extra 6 inches or so for the extra length of the 21 over your 20.

When Mike or Kip has a look at that shot from the back, I would think they will make it right for you. The Checkmate guys are a class act... keep us posted.

Bruce

Yeah, I guess that's what I was looking for...a little feedback on how to handle this one. I'll give them a call on Monday and see if they can help me out.

This is not my boat.... but it provides a pretty good shot of how the ladder is setup on the Pulsare 21's. Looks can be deceiving but it looks like a good 6 inches or so. (Yikes ... you will have to click on it to make it larger)

I'm pretty confident the guys will make it right for you ...

Take Care

Bruce

I need a cover for my 2100BR, see what you can work out with them.... I give them $xxx for this one and they ship you a new one made for a 2000BR!!

I definitely wouldn't be happy for the amount they cost.

Here is the truth it looks like crap around the ladder and I would be unhappy. The Damn factory should know how a cover should fit around the ladder on a boat they built. If you wanted a unifit cover you would have called Overtons not Checkmate.

Get off your can Checkmate his cover looks like crap. Oh maybe its all Dougs Baja employees he hired that dont know squat about a Checkmate

One more thing why isn't your boat in your garage. looks to me by your pics it would fit.

It sits under a covered lift all summer and goes in a big shed in the winter. I have a big garage, but not enough room for the boat, the suburban, the tahoe and all the summer yard stuff and winter snow removal stuff and all the kids stuff and ...well. You get the idea?

As has been stated, looks like they gave you cover to a 21.

Not only the ladder, but it should be nice, snug, and clean around front and sides. It shouldn't "gather" material as shown when drawstring is cinched.

Alright Big Red

One more thing why isn't your boat in your garage. looks to me by your pics it would fit.

You inspired me...cleaned the the ever livin' $h!t out of the garage today and got a storage unit for less than the cost of storing the boat.

Now I got a Suburban, Tahoe and Checkmate shoe horned in. That swing tounge made it all possible. Now I can polish her all winter.

BTW-Nice purple shirt. You need my hat.:thumb:

I did not want to say anymore but I am toasted now. He has 2 grand worth of lawn tools and the most 7500 worth of vehicle which will probably be traded in the next year or 2 and leaves the boat outside.

But this is common with most boat owners, they spend 25 grand or more on a boat and leave it outside but they put a worthless car inside that they trade every 4 years go figure. But don't let that 2 grand mower get wet but leave that 25 grand boat outside

Mark my words most peoples garage is full of worthless 2 dollar crap they hang on to. Priority is in my book the most valuable stuff is inside

like bag man said. it should not bunch anywhere. loose covers dont work. I had a custom one made for my persuader. It hangs 18 inches below the gunnel and has a zip on extension that hangs all the way to the chine to protect the gel from sun. it also covers my entire platform and ladder. unfortunately I have no photos of the boat covered to post. the cover is nice though and only cost six bills.

I hate negitive posts but I have to tell you -- I dont know what you paid but that would be going back if it were me. First of all the motor cover should be completely seperate. I am sorry but hate to see a brother member who did not get what he paid for:(

Not to rub it in but here is the custom cover made for my long deck you can bounce a quater off it when it is pulled tight.

It may be a 2100 cover, that was my first thought. Unfortunately mine does not have the ladder "cut out", so I don't know what it should look like.

My cover doesn't fit well either, thank goodness for the garage!!!

Whoa...

...talk about getting more than you bargain for.:rof:

Thanks to all for chiming in...I get it...I shouldn't be satisfied and I will send back the cover and I will try to hook someone up with the old one and I cleaned my garage and I will store my boat in a heated garage not a cold shed and I will make sure my new cover is tight and fits around the ladder like chaps on a Indianapolis Colts cheerleader (which is to say tight) and Baja sucks and...Baja sucks. :bigthumb:

Seriously though, thanks for the feedback. I'm calling Checkmate tomorrow.

You mean to tell me that the members here do not (LIKE) Bajaaaa's I am shocked!! Shocked:p;)

Thanks to Kip and Checkmate!!

Fellow members-

I'm probably telling you all something many of you have already figured out, but it bears repeating. Owning a Checkmate and working with the folks at the factory is a pleasure. Kip figured out what went wrong with pattern when the cover was made and has been more than willing to correct the mistake.

I, on the other hand, owe Kip an apology for not allowing him to correct the mistake before posting pics. Kip, please understand, that it was not my intent to cause a blow up and start a big fuss. But that was the result and I'm a little embarrassed for having brought any negativity to you and the folks in the shop. I was simply posting pics of my cover and didn't think, or even consider, where that would lead. I apologize for my naivety regarding the reactions to my post and certainly bear no animosity towards you or Checkmate. Thanks for your great customer service regarding this matter and I look forward to driving my Pulsare...that is, as soon as the ice goes off the lake!

Thanks,

Sam
