MX BOB

New member
Hey,been following you all for awhile.I bought an MX15 with trailer and original trim tabs on craigslist for $100 two years ago and have found great advice and tips on this sight ,that's why I finally signed up.Completely torn down and going back together. Great pastime just working around New England weather.Should have it on the water next spring for its 40th anniversary. I will post pics soon for all you fanatics[which I think is all of you].thanks for the great info. MX BOB

Welcome glad to see another mx15 brought back to life. 100 $ with trim tabs that's a steal ! Grate find! What shape was it in?

much better shape now after a few grand and two years! funny thing though when it rains it pours,as I was working on it my friend stopped by to drink all my beer and " supervise". well he recognized the hull shape, went home then called me , his friend had another MX15 1972 sitting out in a field.I got it for a case of coors.bought a donor boat for my 74 it has an 86 merc115 on a 82 ssv15 foot glastron .sitting on a holsclaw trailer.gave the glastron to a friend .so have another hull and trailer waiting in the wings! these old school boats are out there just keep looking!

Welcome to the forum MXBob
I love to see those classic MX's brought back t life --- there are a few beauties in this forum so your in real good company.

Wherabouts here in NewEngland are you from {I'm on the northshore of Mass}.

:welcome: I didn't think anyone could beat the deal I got on my MX-14, but it looks like you have! I bought mine for $100. It had the original speedometer, water pressure gauge (which I've heard is next impossible to find), and battery gauge. So basically $200 in gauges. And it does have a screwed up transom and no title.

Anyway it's great to see another MX. Good luck on the resto! :bigthumb: I love the creativity of these builds and they inspire me to be creative with mine.

O I know mx bob! I got my 71 mx-15 by trading a clapped out motorcycle. Ya they pop up on CL here and there for free. If it was up to me i would start collecting free checkmates. I also have a second one waiting to get redone. Good thing I'm 28 no wife or gf. :)
