Hi folks, my name is Justin and I have been looking on this forum for awhile but this is my first post. Big reason is I am looking at a 1999 zt240 and had some questions...and from what I have seen this is the place to ask.

Im coming from a 1996 Baja Islander and have been looking for a 242 convincor for awhile as that was the first checkmate to really catch my eye. That got me into the ohhhh I have to get a bigger boat. Anyways I found a zt240 with a 454 mpi (non mag) with with a 4 blade prop, not sure at the moment the pitch but I think 23. Boat seems clean but I have not seen it in person. I can get it for 17500 with all the equipment needed.

So does that seem like a fair price? 400 hrs fyi. Is that about the same size as 242? finally what speeds should I expect? (River boater generally choppy, not like the big lakes though) Thanks in advance for the help!!

:welcome:to the forum!! I am no help with your questions but I am sure that someone will answer them soon for you!

Welcome to the Obsession!

A 240ZT is smaller than a 242. a 240ZT is 24' long with the swim platform included. A 242 Convincor is 24' WITHOUT the platform making it 26' overall. There is a decent all around size difference between the two.

Do you have some pics so we can see the condition? Post up the add if its the Craigslist. I wouldn't say $17,500 is crazy high but your not getting a deal being at the end of the season.
